Ok - The Great Divorce is not hackin' it. I'm almost done but I'm disappointed. A friend of mine in LA is the one who turned me on to Lewis. I was visiting him and he told me that a lot of what I was saying in a conversation is similar to Lewis' words in A Greif Observed. I then bought that book - love d it and bought Miracles and TGD. And, of course, I loved the Narnia Chronicles as a kid and again at 24.

so i was in culver city on monday with my parents. i was at a redlight, i looked over.... and i saw this old man stealing mail from one of the big blue mail boxes, what the fuck!! he was all bent over and when he stood up he either had food or foam around his mouth
his eyes were crazy as hell! he looked both ways and took off running with mail in hand!!!!
it was so surreal i actaually laughed!!

hey I was looking at your companies website and saw all of the positions you were looking for and came to this conclusion....you need to look for people in pipeline and tool development, looking for people that have experience in strictly Maya tools is useless, unless you need warm bodies. The only thing that seperates you from other studios are the tools you have in house, other than that you only have employee's and nothing of real worth...Maya fur sucks, Maya render sucks, default Maya deformation tools suck, color space is a major issue, etc....to get a show with 100's of shots you have to show that you have a pipeline and infastructure that can support it....email me and we can talk about it......eric

the money thing is a complicated one. i agree that work is work and not your life, but i think of certain other jobs and realize i could never stomach them, no matter how much i was being paid. i refuse to wear pantyhose, schmooze, or sell anything as part of my job description.
that said, my job is veering more and more towards finance and it's not as bad as i thought. but i can show up in sneakers and $2 men's pants from the thrift store, as i did today.

i think that vutek wrote in my journal a few times before i left the site. now i'm sad. its nice to know that i'm not the only one with irrational phobias. my doctor prescribed me some zanax, but i'm afraid to take it. maybe it's just another phobia. i figure that if i start taking it for my phobia, i'll never be able to get on the freeway unless i've taken my pill. i'd rather find another way to get past this. does that sound dumb?
