One step forward and two steps backwards. I think they call this the dance of life??!

Related but not so related thought... I love the dynamics on the dance floor. It's humans back to their primitive self. Some are self absorbed, some trying to impress, many are expressing. How many of you are aware of others and what they are doing while dancing?

Scatman John was from somewhere in the States, he had a couple of hit singles in the mid 90's with Scatman and Scatman's World. Nothing to do with, er... "scatman"
Besides which, I'm in the same part of the world as you, silly. tongue

An old friend, Sue Sinclair, wrote this for me... it seems the house is still on fire.

----

Your life is a burning house
from which you want to save a few possessions,
some treasured pain or jealousy
guarded anxiety, by which you know your heart.

If you could re-enter,
you would singe every hair
for the pure pleasure of recognition,
re-encountering the static...

I think the source of my hangover problems in general is a combination of too much sugar and too little sleep. I wish there'd been some sunshine to sit in yesterday! But I definitely did very little moving, that's for sure. smile When my hubby came home from being out and about socializing all afternoon (he can sleep through anything, so he emerged unscathed!) I fell asleep with my head in his lap. This all sounds very cute and sweet until I wake up a few minutes later with an enormous crick in my neck but voila, no more hangover!

Dear Ms. Journal,

I have this little situation... you see, my Mum came to visit recently and she brought my childhood friend - Rupert, a stuffed bear which has spent many a warm night under the sheets with me.

When a friend, well lover really, saw Rupert her eyes lit up. He's been staying at her place ever since and every time I turn my...

What's with people and their vices? Are we all so weak that we can't keep strait what the heck is important to us?

I hate the shit that our society dumps in our laps everyday. Little promises of things that "will" make you happy... if you just give them a little more money. It's always about the freak'in money... oh and here's a drink so...

I'm obsessed with the details in people. One of my favorite pastimes is to watch strangers and try and figure out as much as I can about them by simply observing. Sometimes it's little things like they are left handed based on which hand they wear their watch on.

Today on the train I was watching this woman, all dressed in shades of black. Often...

thursday:
i used to drive from oregon to washington a lot as a kid to visit grandparents and the like. one of my favorite things to do in the car was make up a story about the people we passed.
'oh, they're driving to be with their daughter in the hospital cuz she's going to have a baby and that's why they're speeding. they love her.'
but then, i'd turn it around.
'actually, they have a body in the trunk and a neighborhood full of witnesses about two hours down the road. THAT'S why they're speeding...'
i guess it taught me not to assume things about people.
alexis:
Look at those titties! Fantastic.
I always watch people... if you stare at someone (deliberately, not just glancing), they can feel it and they'll look back at you. Try it.

Halloween '03

The point, this has been an issue of late - what the frig is the point of all this... we get up, pee, eat, run around like fools, pee some more and then sleep.

Once again a close friend, a lover, someone very dear to me has brought this into focus - not through some grand scheme or master plan, just simple words...

Life is interesting... it seems to travel in circles with the head casing the tail or is it the other way around - I never know.

Sometimes I think it's a curse but often I ask myself what's the freak'in point? We go through this grind called life for what... what brings meaning to it all?

What's with eye contact, people make it all the...
