Seeing: the light at the end of the tunnel on this research project on domestic violence in migrant and refugee communities. The bulk of the writing will be done by Friday coming and then it's just editing and formatting. *phew*
Feeling: incredibly humbled by the life experiences of my interview subjects. People who've spent years in refugee camps in Kenya, in detention centres in outback Australia, who have literally fled their homelands in fear of their life and ended up ... here. I don't believe in God but I can see why they have to.
Preparing: for some upcoming lectures on queer gender and performance, drag queens and kings, community, identity, and theatre semiotics. Which means I have to see some drag shows and go to a couple of queer dance events over the next few weeks. To think this is all official 'research' (and tax deductible!) makes me laugh. Heartily.
