Ever get those bursts of energy that just come outa nowhere? I love it. Had one of those mundane, tune out, put it in robot mode, think about nothing and just work days, then I came home, played guitar for awhile and WHAM!!. Just like that. The world was ash grey, and now it's gawdamn beautiful for no reason.

Cruised around the bay on my...

I want an Ipod too, but you're so right about the cost.

And yeah, where the hell did March go??
dizzy:
i thought i was the only one who noticed that march just up and dissapeared. A sign of age catching up, or something more sinister at bay..... I turned around and looked at teh calender last week, and said 'ah shit. taxes!!!!!'

Ha! what a funny week. I proved to myself that I'm not a kid anymore. Arrrrr I won't be going gently into that dark night though!! Rage! Rage!

So the Modest Mouse show in SD sucked major ass. The venue was too big, sold out, and the crowd was a fucking joke...really bad vibe. Isaac spent a lot of time cursing at people and generaly...

the video was unrelated. One of the guys i work with sent it to me. But damn, it kinda did drives the point home doesn't it?

I think the art exchange could work, as long as it was a small enuff group where we could assist each other. I'll post the details of how it breaks down in my head a lil later.

I am fucking happy today!! no sarcasm needed. I'm taking a couple days off for no reason. My guitar is calling me. I'm going to look for an instructor, more skills to disturb the neighbors with. Actually one of my neighbors sais she's gonna pick up the guitar so I'll have a partner. We'll blast them from two sides!!

I got tired of the silly...

Hmmm, I didn't know Quinne was so damn cute!! She's like some little puppy you wanna bring home, but you know she's gonna chew your shit all up.

I think trying to sell my work will be a good thing for me. My mind is churnning out a flud of images, now that I have something to focus on. Lets see if I can transfer...

i sell a bunch of shit for this guy who buys it all or gets paid to take it from companies. mostly computer and networking equipment. it's all about creative book keeping for these companies and we make a killing off of it.

I used to Paint a lot with traditional brushes, and still do for fine detail on some of my more complicated Airbrush pieces.
Man, i loved painting in Oils. That was my favorite. But i had slept in my studio/bed with wet paintings. Needless to say my dreams became pretty twisted, and then the days... and the fukkin headaches that would not go away...

...i think i'll unpack my oils this weekend.

I was thinking about getting some crumy part time job to help pay off my credit card debpts, but then I thaught well fuck! Really, what would I get from that, $100 a week? I've allways said no when anyone wanted to buy my paintings because they're for me, but why not try and do a bunch of silly, eye catching acrylics that I won't...

Creating a book of your work would be the shit! I know i'd buy a copy. That said, creating a book requires alot of time and energy- Hence the reason i never did it.
Selling your work (prints keep your originals) might work out quite nicely for you bro.
Oh yeah, Happy St. Paddys Day to ya!
van_hammersly:
i sell stuff on ebay all day. i dont think art is one of the more desireable commodaties on it. if you were thinking of actually making money off art, then... oh, wait, i have no idea how to, so forget i started to say anything.

Ahahaha....HA!

That's all there is.

We went to The Whistle Stop last night. Haven't been there in quite a while. I have never actually been to The Casbah yet? Let me know if a cool band makes a visit. I'll keep you in the loop too.
van_hammersly:
go for it, man. I never really have fun coloring stuff, even if it turns out good, it just seems like a chore to me. I may get around to it, but i'd love to see what you come up with.

I picked up enough mags and comics in one day to last a month. I was stoked to see Katie on the cover of WYWS, but the short article wasn't too flattering. The writter was expressing nastalgia for punkrock's burgeoning days and basically felt that today's suicide girls are no different than yesterday's trendy prom queens. "Homoginized", and "manufactured" were words that he used. While...

ok dude, i got kinda interested in what Batmonkey would look like, so i drew him. the line art is in my pics, and i will color him soon. i originally wanted to make him a little more fun and cartoony, but he is kinda tough and dark, like batmonkey would be in real life...

Hey there, ended up going to this art show on 30th & Ray. All the galleries were open & they had live music playing in the parking lot. Was pretty cool. Usually I go to Lancers or Live Wire or Zombie Lounge to name a few. How about you? What part of town are you stationed?

Things on my mind today:

I stopped following international news and politics because it makes me ugly and agitated.
I found that without it... I'm ignorant, ugly, and only slightly less agitated. I will try again.

I should get more involved with today's culture. Having no TV, and not reading culture mags leaves me fealing Amish when my friends start talking about this and that....

writing is writing, and most people who write fiction well channel all kinds of voices besides their own. Snow can eat cars with her eyes. She's hot as hell like heaven.

...at any rate, if you are interested in getting some comics, read 'Watchmen'. It deconstructs the whole comic book mythos, and turns the medium on its ear, while being timely (and timeless) and topical. not to mention, it is cool as hell. also, scott mccloud books ('understanding comics' and 'reinventing comics') are great reads, which deal with not only comics, but visual storytelling in a fun and enlightening way.

Here's Weirdo's friend Diss...Weirdo and Diss. I thought I instilled goodness in him, but he poked me in the eye as I was givving him detail. Weirdo was chearing him on. Ungreatful tykes. She wanted him to have purple hair, so I made it red to spite her. Diss couldn't give a fuck. but he seems infatuated with her. He burns a match all night...

mrginger:
write the book. you already have the basis for a story with these characters, all you have to do is put it together. I'll buy a copy. will it be for adults? there's no limits on that shit

jesus. I was just typing away and I accidentally clicked on something and erased the whole damn thing.
I'm pretty beat. I painted all day and I don't know why, but it leaves me drained.
Wierdo has a freind now though. I'm calling him Diss. He's pretty tough. I'm gonna try and post him tommorow.

my brother lives in Carlsbad, which I guess is pretty close to Sand Diego. I went out there once, CA has some really beautiful scenery, and the whether seems great.
Glad you dig the new drawings... I liked the results I was getting by just doing it really fast, rough and sketchy, so I have been sticking with it. Sometimes when you just get in the groove, it is really fun. Most of the time, I will get bored pretty quick, and then not draw for a while, but I drew for all of saturday, and then like 4 hours yesterday. I just turned on some music, drank a bottle of rum, and drew...

Theres a monthly artshow here in LA called Cannibal Flower
that i think your work should make an appearance. I did a couple of shows on and off there for a couple o' years.

It's a group show, usually showing anywhere between 30-50 artists at the same time. And it's always a big event.
van_hammersly:
thats awesome. i love the texture in your paintings. keep putting more up..
