well, last week was interesting..... on three occasions over two days I had people trying to tell me where I can and cannot work. It just blows me away. People who live near the beaches that my tribe is allowed to harvest shellfish on seem to think that since they can't do what we can, it must be illegal for us to do it! One guy even told me that he was starting a court case, and implied that my having told him I was picking oysters was damning evidence against the tribe! This was after he had gone around taking pictures of all our trucks to get the lisence plates, and someone said they saw him getting into one of the trucks! I wonder if he's aware that there's a $10,000 fine for interfering with tribal fishermens' work? Another guy tried to tell me that we were all picking the wrong part of the beach, and we were supposed to be "on the other side of those pilings." I told him to go talk to our beach monitor, who had all the regs and boundaries with him. He never did, though. I guess he just thought he could tell me and I would go, taking all the tribal fishermen with me or something.
