My wisdom-tooth-ordeal has progressed thusly:
-pain and big-time swelling
-getting better
-swelling almost gone with slight tenderness
-sudden, left-lower jaw swelling with savage doubled-over-"i'll-beat-you-if-you-touch-me" pain resulting in a trip to the local ER at 5am
-spontaneous appointment with local maxillo-facial surgeon who treats me the way I wish the ER staff treated me (by this I mean "competently")
-getting to hear a surgeon say ....

gee thanks. i'm due to have mine out asap. i have two impacted in my sinuses and the others impacted in my jaw.
having seen what fentanyl does to laboring mothers, i wasn't sure that it would fully anesthetize me. so i grilled the dentist on his anesthesia, asking him what-all he could/would use on me. evidently it's a phenergan/fentanyl/versed cocktail. i felt somewhat relieved.
i just hope i have someone good to take care of me.
