Voc com a sua msica esqueceu o principal
Que no peito dos desafinados
No fundo do peito bate calado
Que no peito dos desafinados tambm bate um corao

This month has brought all kinds of upheaval. I've been angry constantly but it's a very productive, motivating anger.

Spent time with my favorite people, drinking fancy cocktails and playing skeeball. Got high on amazing homemade muffins...

You went to Holy Ship!?
Holy eff. I'm so jealous. I wanted to go but didn't get my act together. Well that and my conference kind of swallowed me whole.
I worked 152 hours of overtime b/w Jan-March.

ANYWAYS.

When is Big Freedia. I miss NYC. & I need a vacay, stat.

So volunteer orientation was great, as expected. I was surprised at how easy it was to be around horses again, though of course the horses there were exceptionally tolerant school horses, which helped. I was also surprised at how overwhelmed I felt when it was my turn to walk beside a horse and help an autistic child stay on and go through his riding exercises....

I hope you feel better soon. Very glad it's not flu...and you get to take a little break.

The photos came out great! biggrin I'm just getting to my photos from the sculpture garden. I had so many photos and was making good headway through them until I started back at work last week.
really REALLY love the third, last, and Minotaur photos.

How often are you going back to do the volunteer work at the stables? It sounds really interesting. I have a couple friends back here who work with autistic children or whom are the parents of one and it's really interesting talking to them about how they interact with people and the world around them and the various therapies they have used.

Compassion fatigue is a bummer.

In happier news, my family was blessed with not one, but two beautiful healthy babies this week. My cousin had a little girl, Jade, and my brother's girlfriend gave birth to a little boy who remains unnamed as of yet (he's already mysterious). I can't wait to meet them. Babies have a wonderful way of making insignificant, unimportant things seem...

Tomorrow one of the roommates and I are going to the Brazilian parade by the consulate, which should be trashy and music-filled. It feels like an appropriate way to end the summer.

I'm excited September's here. So far it means so many good things: cooler weather, my Texas family visiting me a bit closer to home (via a massive Filipino wedding next weekend in Virginia),...

Today was horrible, but it doesn't matter because tomorrow is going to be infinitely better. As soon as my workday is over I'm boarding a flight to Salvador. I'll have a good old friend to keep me company and my fiery little grandmother, favorite cousins ever, incredible Bahian food, proper caipirinhas, and sunsets over the bay to look forward to. The week after I have...

I found my mentor today. We met for coffee on Madison, spoke for over an hour, and then she walked me to work. Her philosophy about patient care echoes the philosophy I grew up with; she considers it the greatest privilege to serve her patients. That is the person I want to emulate. I'm so excited about finally starting down this path. I've been putting...

Please forgive my MPB moment.love

dragonchild92:
Despite I don't love MPB (I like some songs, but I don't be a lover of the genre at all), I don't see why you ask for forgiveness...lol... It is not bad to love MPB, could be worst and you love Pagode, Axe Music or Batido... lol

I have a fever and a sore throat/cough thing, but I'm feeling surprisingly great after taking some meds and drinking unnatural quantities of fluids. The sun is out and I'm listening to Marisa Monte and getting ready to go walk some dogs for a client. It'll be good to get some sunshine and fresh air.

3 weeks from today I'll be in Arizona recovering from...

It's really sad to see how some people presume to know what others think, and somehow believe themselves worthy of judging others, but act like victims when they're misunderstood. Enough with the misanthropic bullshit already!

If you really are too good for the rest of us, be gracious enough to spare us your presence. Fuck off. You can cultivate the most enlightened online presence you...

My little apartment is undergoing a magical transformation into a place I'm happy to come home to. It's peaceful and cute and the roommate's cats have stopped hiding and lay about in plain sight now. My room smells like my favorite candles and the kitchen smells like coffee and brownies. At night I sleep with my window open and the cold air makes my down...
