Walking Your Own Yellow Brick Road
Transported from her home and her comfortable frame of reference, Dorothy embarked on a path of discovery that took her to the strange Land of Oz on the other side of the rainbow. After she inadvertently killed a wicked witch, she was thanked by a grateful "good witch," who awarded her the ruby slippers of the dead witch. Thus...

In my travels on the internet I came across this site called "Sarcastic Sage - Advice you can live without"

I found a post that was so on-point to a recent event that I read about on SG - that I couldn't help but wonder if this was actually penned by one of the individuals involved. See below:

Dear Sarcastic Sage,
I have been living...

It's that time of year again - time for the New Year's Resolutions

New Year's Day - now is the accepted time to make your regular annual good resolutions. Next week you can begin paving hell with them as usual.
Mark Twain

As most people know, there's a lot of distance between making a New Year's resolution and keeping it. Working hard to meet a...

I hope the new year is treating you well so far. I almost don't dare to think of where I was a year ago compared to today. I'm living a dream that I never imagined I'd come this close to realizing.

I look forward to reading more of your words of wisdom. Your blogs have a special place in my heart and mind, as do you as a human being.
wsoxfan:
What a coincidence. I just posted a new blog and just noticed that you commented on my old one. Yes, I'm on coud 9, only because there's no cloud 10.

You've been an inspiration to me for the longest time. One of the things I look forward to when I go to Canada is sharing my feelings about you and my other firends with Kathy and telling her how much you've done for me.

The Foundation of a Healthy Relationship - Honesty!

"To be honest is to be real, genuine, authentic, and bona fide. To be dishonest is to be partly feigned, forged, fake, or fictitious. Honesty expresses both self-respect and respect for others. Dishonesty fully respects neither oneself nor others. Honesty imbues lives with openness, reliability, and candor; it expresses a disposition to live in the light. Dishonesty...

I am honest, respectful, reliable, I communicate, I keep no secrets, I am everything...except I am not fearless. I am a frightened infant who after sticking his hand into the blue oven flame, has come to cower and stutter on the edge of that kitchen floor. That is who I am. One too many fingers in the cookie jar, until nothing is left to offer. The only demon I face in a relationship is me. I run to the hills repeatedly. Oh yeah...Geeks do rule.

The Strangest Secret
by Earl Nightingale

George Bernard Shaw said, "People are always blaming their circumstances for what they are. I don't believe in circumstances. The people who get on in this world are the people who get up and look for the circumstances they want, and if they can't find them, they make them."

Well, it's pretty apparent, isn't it? And every person who...

HEY MY DEAR FANTASTIC FRIEND.....FOR YOU .....I WISH A WONDERFUL CHRISTMAS.......

A LOTS OF HUGS TO YOU ........kisskisskisskisskisskisskiss

cassy:
girl thanks for all you do. what you're saying, the power of the mind, and positive though, sometimes i feel like i'm the poster child for that.
it's taken me all these years in life to get to this point of course, but i do believe that is very true, you're right in more ways than you know.
you're in charge of your own destiny, we make it happen don't we day by day hour by hour. to choose to do what is right, isn't always the easy choice. that's for SURE. but it does reap the rewards i seek. i've seen the fruits of these labors over the past year, and it will continue, i am sure of that.
you and yours have a fantastic holiday mama. miss u.

Blue Christmas

I'll have a Blue Christmas without you
I'll be so blue thinking about you
Decorations of red on a green Christmas tree
Won't be the same, if you're not here with me And when those blue snowflakes start fallin'
And when those blue melodies start callin'
You'll be doin' all right, with your Christmas of white,
But I'll have a blue, blue, blue,...

Wow, what a fantastic idea and thank you so much for sharing!

I lost my Nanny this year and will be attending a carol service organised by the funeral directors. They've also given us a star each that we can write a message to Nanny on and they are putting all the stars on their Christmas tree in their shop window. Again, I think that is a very nice, touching thing to offer people.

I hope that you're still able to celebrate the festive season love, take care xx
cassy:

Time to Turn Over a New Leaf?

"Crazy" is sometimes defined as doing the same thing and expecting different results. If this also describes your approach life, it may be time to turn over a new leaf. Do you need to grow and branch out? Like a strong trunk, your actions should support your personal goals. If they do not, it may be time to...

The Miracle of Toilet Paper

Fresh from my shower, I stand in front of the mirror complaining to my
husband that my breasts are too small.. Instead of characteristically
telling me it's not so, he uncharacteristically comes up with a suggestion.

If you want your breasts to grow, then every day take a piece of toilet
paper and rub it between them for a few...
