Some men that are my personal heroes....
My Uncle Johnny Stanton who served with Pattons third army in Africa, Italy and Europe.
My Uncle Arthur Stanton served in the navy in the pacific.

OH NO! I wish you a speedy recovery. Hopefully it was a mild enough stroke that it won't leave many lasting effects.

this holiday is a day when personal politics need to be set aside. This holiday is not barbecues

In Flanders Fields

In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.
We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived,...

Wednesday Sucked. They went to replace the batteries in my ICD but none of the sedatives or anesthetics worked. So after a short torture session they got the new batteries in and stapled me up.

Wife is doing good except for minor anxiety issues. Thank God for Ativan.

I am seriously contemplating getting "Insert Batteries Here" tattooed above the scar.

I agree the bill needs some improvements. Single payer would have been the simplest, most cost-effective solution, providing the best care for everybody at the lowest cost. That would have been the win-win for everybody but the insurance and drug companies, but greed and carefully placed money made sure that didn't happen...YET. Many companies are using this as an excuse to cut jobs in America and send them overseas. Equalizing tariffs with other countries and ending corporate welfare would put a stop to that.
