Too many days without sun. It's been unseasonably warm for a while but also cloudy, wet and dark. If I don't get enough bright, natural, light every day I tend to get cranky, sluggish and depressed. Were it not for Ott Lites and the other sunlight reproducing bulbs I use all the time I'd be in big trouble.

The good news is that I've been...

Frozen sliders? Sacrilage. I pick them up hot off the oniony grill every time I feel the need to cleanse. White Castles were a big deal growing up. We never had a Castle in our little town, you had to drive down the highway to a city. I guess beetle burgers represent urbanity to me. Now that I work in the city and commute, I pick them up all the time. You know, after 15-20 bags you begin to develop a tolerance.

What snow we've got has packed down to 4-6" and crusty.
This bout hasn't even started yet. Good luck with what gets dropped
in your area.

I think you hit the nose on the head with that humidity suggestion, sir. I shall acquire one at the earliest opportunity. A good friend informs me that his life has been immeasurably improved since he moistened his surroundings. I'm thinking Delicatessen. smile

That article might be the coolest thing ever, and to think that you actually heard FM Mother Nature. It makes me wonder about all the holy men and women who have heard voices over the years, maybe they were just tuned in to DJ Cosmos.

I suspect you'll really enjoy the Algernon Blackwood, a good read.

I am now in the 800's pagewise of Against The Day, really will need to re-read with no literary 'mixing' so I can absorb the plot intricacies and trademark Pycnhon descriptiveness better. I picked up a copy of Roshwald's Level 7 (EBay book shopping, completely addicted), interesting concept, brings me back to days of youth with the ever-present M.A.D. umbrella looming.

Winter, I know exactly what you're saying. With the diminished daylight hours and cold, I tend to live like a shut-in. Honestly, the dry cold is by no means for me as bad as the cold & wet, but I'll take year-round wheeled activity. Skateboarding endless drain systems under the Big Sky seems a good plan for the future.

You couldn't hope for a more beautiful autumn day than this afternoon. The sky was a vibrant blue, the sunshine was plentiful and the temperature briefly reached a high of nearly 61 degrees (16 C). I drove down to Croton Gorge Park at the base of the New Croton Dam in Westchester and set out for another hike on the Old Croton Aqueduct Trail. I...

At least we have one movie in common. I think you'll enjoy it.

Finding a new place to live is quite a relief. I was getting pretty panicky, as I was going to be evicted from here within two weeks without any more hopes for a reprieve. I'll still be here through December 7th.

I'm still looking forward to moving out of New York eventually. This time though it's the hope that I'll be moving in with Kathy permanently by the end of next summer.

Oh, yes. All I wanted my first year of college was to teach Shakespearean Lit and wear tweed for the rest of my life. I was at a little college and I had a great great professor, later I transferred to be closer to my ex wife and ended up at liberal revisionist U. I still read some Henry V and Hamlet out loud to Luvamoose some times.
wsoxfan:
Thanks. Not to belabor the point and I won't mention it again concerning the following. You've aroused my curiosity about what you were going to say to me a few days ago, but then decided to delete. I have a feeling it may have been important for me to read.

I've been pretty lucky. I've had less than a handful of bad experiences with social networking via the internet. I know there ate many pifalls as well. Some of my friends have experienced grief on SG from time to time.

I hope all is well in your life.
