An article I read said that kinks are inherited. Now, this doesn't mean you can't develop a kink, but if you have any that you've always had, you have your family to thank for it.
The funny part (to me) is that I know my parents were VERY vanilla, since I am also; it also means that if my kids have any (they're all adults, but obviously I would never ask them this), they got them from their mom or their mom's side of the family LOL
