Right. I've been putting this one off for a while but it's time to bite the bullet and come up with 20 interesting facts about me thanks to clockworkcrow.
1. I've been working in the immigration detention game for about two and a half years. In this time I've been bitten, spat at and had my life threatened. While working at Baxter I met Cornelia Rau. To quote pottsie she is definitely a "loose unit".
2. My job does not reflect my political leanings. At all. It's just a job.
3. I own an original Brett Whiteley print and a Pro Hart painting.
4. Until the age of 23 I'd only paid $200 income tax and yet still had enough money saved to buy a brand new Yamaha motorbike and a BMW (imported without tax). I'll let you work that one out.
5. My father died when I was 3. The events surrounding his death are still a mystery today.
6. I was stabbed in the stomach during a fight outside a nightclub in 2000. I will never forget the suction feeling the knife makes as gets pulled out in my life.
7. That night I was taken to Charlie Gardner hospital. It was the first day of a nursing strike. Not good.
8. After my dad died mum went back to uni and got a decent job so she could send me to a private school. However I still had to sing in a cathedral choir to subsidise my school fees. I sang in that choir every day except saturdays for 6 years and hated every minute of it. However now I can kinda understand Latin.
9. At our school we had an old Christian Brother who used to watch the little kids get changed. The school in all their infinite wisdom put him in charge of the pool. How's that for pastoral care?
10. I suck at most team sports however I'm pretty good at solo sports.
11. Right now my kitchen is full of dope. Don't believe me?
12. Until this year, I'd never been outside of Australia. I went to Bali (how original).
13. I'm planning a trip to Amsterdam as soon as my contract on CI is up (feb 28).
14. I've been a complete stoner since high school. Except up here where you can't buy dope. Even if you grow your own there's always long periods without.
15. I didn't touch a drop of alcohol between the ages of 18 and 20 although now I'm borderline alcoholic.
16. My first girlfriend left me after three years for the CEO of a WA based mobile telecommunications company who was ten years older than her.
17. My quasi-current girlfriend (who is in London right now so we'll see how this pans out) used to claim I loved my car more than her. I think she was just being needy (although I do love my car)
18. To get one of my best friends back for something he did (I forget what), I slept with the girl he was cheating on his girlfriend with and then showed him the scratch marks all down my back afterward. We are still friends today.
19. I smoked a joint with Roni Size and snorted random white powder with one of the guys from the Red Hot Chili Peppers at a Big Day Out afterparty held at the Nedlands Yacht Club.
20. My second toe is longer than my big toe. Am I a freak?
Wow. that was harder than i thought it would be. I hope you all enjoy reading that as much as I enjoyed scanning the memory banks to come up with it.
So have fun boys and girls and remember to stay frosty.
