i upped my elliptical program tonight to the next level. same time: 20 minutes, but more fluctuating between harder resistances. then i did 5 minutes of cool-down on a pulse-control program. i felt like i could go on a lot longer, but i don't want to overdo it (though at this point, i've no clue what 'overdoing it' means for me). it also helped that i found my ipod charger and got to listen to music. billy idol. shut up, it went well with my pace.
later, i'll do more sit-ups. i did 30 two nights ago, which was the first time in a long time i have pushed myself to do sit-ups. my stomach muscles hurt the next night, so i waited until tonight to do more. little by little, but i can feel myself getting used to moving around more. i'm pretty happy with it, even after only one week. unfortunately, i'll be in a hotel all next week that most likely does not have any sort of a gym. i'll just have to make-do with hotel-room sit-ups and things.
which leads me to my next point - i have a job. my old company hired me back and i'll be flying out to St. Louis on monday morning for a week-long training seminar. two years absence has set me back to 'new employee' again. it's funny because overlooking the schedule for the week, i MIGHT learn something on the last day. otherwise, it looks like old-hat. i'm just wondering if we each get our own room, or if we'll have to share. i'm hoping if it's a sharing-situation, that i'll be the only female at the seminar.
i also have to go out in the next few days to get some 'business casual' clothing for this thing. i can't help but always think that 'business casual' equals 'ugly and boring'. sue tells me otherwise, and i KNOW i have found some nice stuff in the past. but it makes me laugh a little that a seminar basically dedicated to crawling around on the floor taping down cables requires niceish clothing. i don't know how many times i knelt down in my nice black pants onto cold chicken and broken glass just to secure a power cord. it's a damn good thing they're paying me (a little) more this time around.

woo hoo you're back! me and the other guitar player might do a little show on tuesday... maybe. i used to be able to do 60 sit-ups in a minute. i'd like to think i wouldn't shit myself trying it now.
