though i really should be applying for jobs and pre-packing a lot of my personal wares, i decided to bake for most of today. i took it all nice and slow so that i could organize and admire all of my ingredients and i ended up making a batch of chocolate chip cookies and soft pretzels. nothing fancy, but all time-tested and very tasty. i can't get a good soft pretzel anywhere around here, so it's a good job i can bake 'em well:
