OK.
Just noticed that I haven't posted a blog in nearly a month now.
I am still in a state of gridlock as far as my thesis is concerned, but I have already signed my lease for the Chicago apartment, so I am moving in two weeks, whether I am able to start my PhD next month or not. I am trying so very hard to be a grownup, and failing oh so miserably at it.
My brother just moved back to town yesterday. He's going to be moving into my place when I move out, so his stuff is just scattered about until I vacate the premises.
I am so ready to get the hell out of Knoxville, forever. I never loved this town, and once all my friends moved away, I really couldn't stand it. There are no green spaces in this city. I probably shouldn't have sold my car, if only to have the option of escaping to the mountains on weekends. That might have made the area a bit more tolerable for me. Oh well. I can't wait to get to Chicago. If I am able to go ahead and start my PhD courses while finishing my thesis up there, fantastic. If not, I will find some sort of job up there for the next year and at least not be here anymore. OK. That's more than enough griping for now.
P.S. - Scott Pilgrim vs. the World is fantastic, and that is coming from a non-gamer.

Thanks for the comments.
Despite having grown up in balmy Dixie, I am a fan of cool and cold weather. I have spent a couple years living in the Alps, so between that and my beer baby, I'm not your typical thin-skinned Southern boy. I will, however, require a sun lamp. I can't wait for Autumn!!! Is it generally nice up there? Ours is pretty heavenly, I must say, especially after five months of Summer.
OK. Once again, thanks, and I hope your liver is treating you nicely these days.
