Hello to all the beautiful people,

Will you ever forgive me? it's been eons, I know...my apologies to you all.

I have so much to report, too. I'm afraid it will have to come in drips, though.

I'm in big, bustling, polluted Beijing right now, and am a sleepy peep.

just know that I've thought about you all incesantly, and will do much better at staying in touch. I've sworn off my bad-friend ways, and will be better. I promise.

Wow, your adventures don't stop. Hope life is well for you. I used to live in Beijing years ago. It's changed immensely since then, but if you go to the Great Wall, try to go to the Si Ma Tai part instead of Ba Da Ling, the latter of which is far too touristy and the former of which is much prettier. . . don't forget to have plenty of Xinjiang (aka "Uyghur") food, for it's the best. Quanjude restaurant just south of Tian'anmen Square is the best roast duck restaurant there. Beyond that, the place has changed so much, I'd be all thumbs about it.

Oh yeah, and get yourself a "jianbing" if you see them. Small white carts on the street, women cook an egg pancake on a hot stone, add chilis and a crunchy crackerlike thing to it, fold it up, and serve. Excellent breakfast on the go!

Definitely report stories. If I wasn't living vicariously through you then, I sure as shit am now! tongue
