Well after I had almost given up I got a new job today. Yeah I know, there is tonnes (metric) of work here and I should have no problem finding a job, but since I have a certain wage I'm looking for and a specific field that I work in so that narrow's things down a bit. Keep in mind I have to work through...

YAY! Little one! biggrin

Have a great day! biggrin

working close to home is the best. i work with alot of guys that have to "boom out" so they rarely see their family. at the same time though you kinda go were the work is. i left denver, colorado nine years ago because here is where its at. there are three ironworkers from denver on my job that are transferring in. i like the feeling of being the only one who can calm down the baby.

So Christmas was somewhat anti-climatic this year after having a new baby only a week before. It also doesn't help that being completely oblivious to the special occasion he decided to pull an all-nighter on Christmas eve. We almost cancelled our trip to the releltives, but then I had an awful wonderful idea... pawn off the 7year old on the Aunts and go back to...

it has to be 45 mph for the cranes to shut down. we have tower cranes so i believe it is higher. conventional cranes here shut down ar 30 to 35. i also jump tower cranes. we were doing one with questionable gusts. it came down to lets go for it. it remember going up the climber. as we were going up i noticed the crane tech, myself and the other ironworker were looking over the edge. we were all finding suitible spots to jump if the tower went down. very exciting when your with fellow ironworkers. but dont let the wife know. wink

i never got the projectile poop but i always got the vomit. we just watch a christmas story. my wife watches its a wonderful life because she likes to cry during movies. that is one cute son you have. i remember when mine was a newborn. he smelled good and i loved to hold him. so did the ironworker get away on law and order?
feerlessfreddy:

Well $80 worth of Sushi last night sounds like a good time.... but I'm not working until this baby comes and running my credit card up seems like a poor idea. Funny thing is we intended to go to Kyoto for sushi, which is quite reasonably priced, and I will say I think it's the best sushi in the city; however Kyoto wasn't open so...

i used to go eat sushi with my friends every tuesday night. they always pushed me to try the sea urchin. i finally did and i ended up liking it. that was like the special treat each night. i remember those trips to the hospital when the wife seems ready to go but the doctors say not yet. so back home you go. hopefully your baby will be born soon.

I'm experiencing an unusually high amount of road rage recently. So because the roads are little icy we don't need to stop for red lights now! Grrr! Vehicles stuck at night, spinning tires, roaring engines.... learn to drive you retards! Parking lots and Christmas shoppers... if I could project to you the thoughts in my head you would curl up in a ball and start...

i like the comment you made in the "is your house perfect" thread. i was waiting to see who would pounce on it first. i experienced alot of bad drivers during the winter when i lived in denver. most of them were transplants from california who had never driven in the snow.

So I'm back, funny I ran into FreakPirate yesterday, and then today I got a sleazy offer from SG. I took it as a sign that I was meant to be here.

Now after so many months I have to re-populate my friends list, and a lot of girls to look at.

now i get the union man occupation. ive heard stories about working in the snow. it doesnt sound to appealing to me. i also put up tower cranes on the weekend for double time. my wife totally hates that job. do you guys in canada dislike carpenters as much as we do here in the us?

Note to Self: Never, ever, ever challenge the cook to make your wings hotter! This is a bad thing.

Well I'd like to share with you all a story of a personal victory, my struggle to overcome addiction.....

I've always been a user, filling my weekends and free time up whenever it was available. I think my first fix was at age 7. I know that doesn't seem very young in this day and age but keep in mind this was on the one...

Fer sure! I think it was a smart move to have someone who was so much like Christopher Reeves. So many people, including myself, have that image ingrained in their brains, nothing else would have worked.
