Man, I am back in Canada to soon. My condo complex burnt down. I am one of the lucky ones. Only massive smoke and water damage. More soon.
I am in Idaho now. I decided to take two days and break the drive home up. I spent the night in Glacier National park and had the campground to myself. I woke up at 6am and climbed up one of the snow-filled valleys before driving the rest of the way home. Very cool. Ill post the photos next week. It was all very therapeutic...

Green is great....and you have to come and take the ATM card...if you dare...

I love Glacier NP.
I've been trying to decide what to do with my holidays this year.
That's sounding pretty fine.
Although last time I was there some pimply faced border guard tried to arrest me coming back into Canada.
"There must be drugs in here somewhere".
Yeah buddy. And there must be a code of conduct and a constitution somewhere else.

OK, I should update a little. Things have finally slowed down and I am regaining some parts of my self that I lost over the past few months. The last three months really fucked with my head. But, now I only have to set foot on campus to teach, visit the pharmacy for drugs, and finish off my candidacy crap.
I am starting to get...

That's pretty funny.
I wasn't planning to go, but my husband was going and wanted me to submit a paper. When the mundane spaces came by, I decided to submit after all since I've been working on that type of thing for a while (my dissertation was called "Therapies of the Mundane..." for example).
I was a bit disorganized myself. I'm pretty tired of travelling by now. Nevertheless, it went pretty well, and I think the panel was pretty good. Chris showed a pretty long dog park video, some of which seemed to be from the dog's eye view. I liked it, but at times I found myself distracted by the cute dogs rather than listening to the paper.
I've been going to too many conferences, in part because that's one of the few times I get to see my husband. I've decided to take a break - I'm doing AAA, but I've already not submitted to a few things that looked interesting. I need to focus my energy on publishing. And getting more sleep.
What was your paper going to be about?

Not much new stuff going on here. The weather is good, but I am still writing and thus stuck in my hole; although, I did manage to get out into the mountains last Sunday. Now that the days are stretching out until 9:30pm, there are more outdoor options. I cant wait until June when it gets dark at midnight. I am preparing for a two...

you should have come to SANA!
The anthro department Spring party is tonight. I decided to have it at my place, or otherwise it would never happen, as most of the faculty are lame or hate each other. The parties are usually pretty fun. Last Christmas at least 50 people came through. The party usually has its people who drop in-and-out, but always ends up with a group of smashed grad...

I just finished a 37 page paper on Phenomenology and Poetry. It was a hellish process, but I wanted to create a work that would inflict pain on those that have to read it.
We are talking intellectual masturbation to the core.
Here is part of the abstract:
Theoretically grounded phenomenological methodologies offer powerful tools that provide diverse understandings of the various existential elements of...

Maybe in my next life I will update this regularly and be more social. Or, maybe in a few weeks.
I am not the biggest fan of video games, because I get addicted to them. However, I decided to buy an Xbox and a bunch of shooter games to take my mind off of things. I have succumbed to taking "mini-vacations" within the Box because...

It gets a little dry up in these parts. I never have time to put lotion on.

I saw Atwood Gaines speak at Santa Fe. His paper was good, but he speaks so softly that I could hardly hear him!
And the lotion thing is creepy!

Yes, I want to hear the Woody Gaines stories. I would guess I'll probably run into you sometime. AAA in Washington?

-Kleinman, Good and that crowd - much stuff
Other stuff too. Send me an email & tell me what you'd like.

Not much new happening.

I am currently suffering from a "poverty" of thought right now.

poverty of thought, eh? that's spooky.
i edited because i wrote "Smooky" as opposed to "Spooky", and although "That's smooky" sounds cool, it's completely out of context.
as much as a made up word can be.

Have you ever had a moment when you suddenly realize that a part of your-self has changed and you cant seem to put a finger on what is different. Or, for some reason, you no longer recognize a part of yourself?

I am going to be teaching the Anthropology of Health and Healing this summer. Summer courses are cool, because they are shorter, more intense, and I can have office hours at a pub and get away with it. It is a quick way for a recluse...
