Last week was as complicated as the week before it. I've been trying to pick myself up and I must say, my friends have been amazing. You don't realise how awesome some people are until the time comes and then it hits you. We've all been together for the best of eight years and fuck, I don't know where I'd have been without them.
Thank you for all the lovely comments and messages too. And the love on Steinbeck! Comment and critique is much appreciated - I'll reply to every comment eventually, I promise!
As I haven't really properly updated in a while, let me begin with the creative project. The presentation went pretty badly (but everyone else said it didn't). I thought I was gonna pass out with nerves, and this guy (we call him CJ. We won't go into why), he started FLOSSING in the middle of it all. Yes, flossing. His teeth. In a room full of people. In front of a camera crew as well. Then he tied the floss to his belt loop. I mean what the actual fuck?! He actually makes my skin crawl. Never in my whole life has anyone disgusted me as much as that cretin.
Ahem.
We moved away from pre-production and we're now onto the actual production stage. I'm working on four shoots, as well as my own (which is this Wednesday). I'm terrified. I've never directed anything that actually matters before, and the whole concept of fucking it up horribly is become more and more apparent. Wish me luck, I'm gonna need it.
It was also Mother's Day yesterday (as many people will know). I was working the whole weekend, and Saturday was crazy. Our area manager was in and was judging us. He's only met me twice - that Saturday and the Wednesday before. I was trying to impress him because I'm trying for a promotion, but that meant flogging sales, which I hate doing because I hate when people do that to me.
My Dad's band played a gig on Saturday night too, which was ace (apart from my drunk best friends party boy-ing him; that was awkward). It spurred the boys into getting their band up and running though, so I'll keep everyone posted on that.
Hope everyone has a good week. And love Steinbeck!
