So I take back all the mopey feelings I had before my birthday. Had such an amazing night with some of my family and friends on Saturday night. I'll post the drunken Tricky photos when I get a chance (most likely next Tuesday when I get my new laptop from school). Got some amazing gifts - an MP3 player from my parents, an official Irish soccer jersey from my younger brother and his gf, and Foo Fighters concert tickets from my older sister and her fiance.
One of my best friends even took me out last night for a belated birthday evening. It was a total surprise. She took me to the Blue Jays baseball game (we were 20 rows up from 3rd base) and afterwards out for a drink. Keep in mind I've wanted to go to a game for ages (I hadn't been in 4 or 5 years) so I was absolutely giddy when we started walking towards the Rogers Centre. And knowing how big a Toronto Maple Leafs fan I am - she surprised me with an Owen Nolan home jersey. I still can't believe someone would do that for me - it was honestly too much. She claimed it was to make up for all my birthdays she's missed (we've been friends for over 6 years and this was the first time we've hung out on my bday).
So yeah, things are good. Heading to London, Ontario on Friday night with two friends from school. We're visiting another friend for her birthday and then making our way back to Toronto Saturday with a stop in Stratford along the way to visit another classmate. Then it's back to TO for the Foos concert. It's going to be so much fun. Beer + Tricky + Tricky's sister (who's the female version of me) = one hell of a kick ass night.
P.S. Thanks to Radiofrank for a birthday mention in his journal and to everyone else for their bday wishes - it meant a lot.
