Well, it took me a bit longer to get around to this than I thought it would. The TL;DR version of my life since I last wrote a blog would read as follows:

- had a blast at @martini's birthday party
- suffered from a nasty, week long cold
- was out of town for 2 days on job-related training
- screwed up my back
- dug out...

Maleficent is very good, although I'm a bit of a traditionalist and generally don't care for rewrites of traditional tales.  Lucy looks great and is enjoyable.... if you don't think very much while watching...

I finished Stonhearst Asylum yesterday.  The premise and cast are a little better than the finished product, but it's worth a rental.

...where I feel like listening to some music with the volume turned way the hell up.

I feel better now. What do you listen to when you're in one of those moods?

@hadd and I will bear witness to this, on July 27:

Soundgarden + Nine Inch Nails. I don't get excited about things all that often, but I am very excited about this...

chazstrummer:
If you watch and try not to think, it's enjoyable.  ;-)

Hope it was a good show :)

Atrocity is recognized as such by victim and predator alike, by all who learn about it at whatever remove. Atrocity has no excuses, no mitigating argument. Atrocity never balances or rectifies the past. Atrocity merely arms the future for more atrocity. It is self-perpetuating upon itself — a barbarous form of incest. Whoever commits atrocity also commits those future atrocities thus bred.

Well done @chazstrummer. Yeah I was hoping a whole lot more from the Leafs this season too.

Do you think I take any pleasure in this dog's life, in seeing and causing death in people unknown to me, in losing friends and acquaintances daily, in seeing my reputation ceaselessly exposed to the caprices of fortune, in spending the whole year with uneasiness and apprehension, in continually risking my life and my fortune? I certainly know the value of tranquillity, the charms...

Yep I'm probably looking way too excited about this feature being back but for me it really helped my activity in the groups. I hope it brings back some activity to ongoing threads, it's nice not having to continually go back to see the conversation & getting straight to one's feed. It is more clutter in one's feed though so I do get someone being lukewarm about the prospect of this feature being back. For myself I'm like a 5 year old on Christmas morning because A. my memory isn't what it use to be & B. I don't have to babysit threads that interest me. So all in all for me it's a plus. I hope brand spanking new members who didn't know of bookmarking threads, use this feature & become active members in groups...well hoping. Alright hope that ramble made some sense. :)
radiofrank:
It did, @teddykev, but you may want to work on your sentence structure.  ;-)  That being said, I do think that it is nice to have it brought back...but I was never really one to bookmark threads; the pagination feature (which I still hope will be brought back) was something I found far more useful.

SGTO karaoke was great, and I'm really glad that I went. A few hours outside of the house spent with friends was just what the doctor ordered.

In other news, the streak shall (finally) end at 23 days. Ye gods...

I've also become extremely intrigued by this movie.

Holy frak! New layout!

I've been fiddling around on Beta for the past few weeks, mind you, but I wasn't expecting the change anytime soon. There are a few things that need to be worked out, in my opinion, but I like it.

On to more important business, then. I have a few more birthdays to bring to your attention. smile

I first met...

Thanks for the birthday wishes (I spent the weekend pretty pickled for the most part, so lots of stuff is kind of blurry)

Um, yeah... I feel like I've electronically died and gone to fluffy SG pillow heaven...

Not much to report; I was (as is often the case) at work all weekend.

What's new with you these days?

Hopefully I'll be more like Obi-Wan in a straight up lightsaber fight, rather than Obi-wan in a force heavy lightsaber duel

But hey, at least Darth Maul looked good doin' it, and took on 2 guys at oncewink

Yes. The Flames have lost. I am sure that some people around here are going to lord it over me for a few days, but if the situation was reversed, I'd probably do the same thing.

Damn, I really don't want to go to work tomorrow. The money is ok and everything, but if I keep at it, I'm sure that I...

Meh. Another day, another dollar. It's been raining like crazy for the past three days here, but it appears as though that is finally over with.
The satellite dish has been giving us some trouble, and when I called tech support, they told me to replace the cable going from the dish to the reciever because it is not the right type. I decided...

Well, there was a Kevin Smith cameo.

I thought the Daredevil movie was fucking brilliant. I don't know why it got bashed so much. The camera work in it alone was so creative. If any film was made that was that visually innovative but wasn't about superheroes, it would be hailed as a masterpiece. Actually, a film that visually innovative WAS made that wasn't about superheroes, and it was called Kill Bill. (Okay, that's an exaggeration, but not by much).

Although, I saw it before I started reading the comics. And I can see why some people could have been disappointed since the comics do tend to be Marvel's opportunity to get deep and artistic, which the film did not portray at all. Still, I loved it. It was so exciting. Too bad there probably won't be a sequel, but I'm looking forward to Elektra's spin-off.

I agree. I believe that after a certain level things go back into chaos again and ithe higher up on the scale you go, the longer it is in between the rotation.

I'm thinking that if data can be transmitted over the shorter wavelengths (like radio waves), I'm sure it can work on the broader ones too. We just aren't sophisticated enough to pick up the signals as humans. Could this possibly be the secret behind Clairvoyance?

I need to get some cable going in my apartment then maybe I won't spend so much time thinking about the meaning of life... lol.
