this americorp job is not the warm fuzzy group hug i had envisioned. it's more like not eating out ever and just barely breaking even every month.

Thanks for the Barleywine tip. I've been hitting the Great Divide and Dogfish offerings most often - I'll Definately be on the lookout for this one.
merry:
Sort of, not really. They're still hashing it all out, so we don't really know yet. Probably won't know what went down until the fall.

The Kims, always and forever: Deal and Gordon.

I hate not eating out ever. Right now I have to settle for the odd trip to SubWay. It sucks.

Please come around more. kiss

A Latin American Tradition
My mom says some crazy stuff sometimes.
I asked her what her opinion was about this new Pope
She said in Spanish, "What do I care? If I was in charge, Id get a gun"
What mom?!
"Id get a gun and pistol whip all those priests."
....?!
Shes one of a great many Latin "non-traditional" Catholics.

btw, Celebrate May Day...

Being wide awake can be tough sometimes. So if things are a bit too bright and vivid, the intrepid and innovative must take action. They must invent a drink that tastes just like candy. Oh yes. One must sniff through his roommate's liquor cabinet feeling for the ingredients of inspiration. Using a Marachino liquor, I made several attempts before arriving at a drink that tastes...

Spiced rum and Diet Dr. Pepper also tastes somewhat like candy. Hey, we were desperate and it was the only liquor/mix in the house... tongue

Haha... I used that interview as the basis for a paper in which I argued for an ethical justification of file sharing.

recently something, an event, grabbed me and shook me wide awake. Not surprisingly, that thing was the JAPANESE ROCK SHOW!

The show approached perfection. A great size venue and not too many people. 7 bands for 10 bucks, and they rocked. The audience loved it and the bands held nothing back.

"Hi everyone! we are from Tokyo, Japan! is everyone having happy day? you know...

sorry, we sold out, I'm not sure when the next one will be because I am so busy with work, and don't really have the time I should put aside to make one, but whenever I get a chance I tend to work on it

I really dont like the beach, much to the shock and consternation of my southern California peers (where I currently reside). Sure a lot of it has to do with body insecurities that push up to the surface in situations where I may need to take my shirt off. But this is not the whole story. Like so much of what makes us what we...

Blah... I don't know what's up with FoB. I guess "hiatus" would be the appropriate word. I'm working two jobs and going to school full time, so I've been neglecting my little zine. You can still send me stuff if you want though... a zine-making friend of mine wants to do some sort of collabouration, so what you write could end up in that rather than the txt version of FoB.

We're all about the metric system up here, but some aspects never caught on... like I can tell you how much I weigh in pounds (but not kilograms) or how tall I am in inches and feet (but not centimetres). It's also still called "a quater-pounder w/cheese", not a "royal w/cheese". tongue

Things to see on the highway from Irvine to Cotati:

The LA jail bus
A sailboat named maude and a motorboat named silverback
A bus stop on the back of a truck (the only time i've seen one of them move)
Orange trucks
A minaret
A massive windmill farm on the 580
A golf course in the middle of a desert
Something called the latino...

Hey, man. You're probably familliar with lots of Elvis Costello without being aware of it; I'd be surprised if you hadn't heard: Oliver's Army, Alison, Watching The Detectives, Accidents Will Happen, Pump It Up, What's So Funny 'Bout Peace, Love And Understanding, and lots more. I guess his most acclaimed early album is Imperial Bedroom, which is fantastic. But he has a lot of great stuff. I'd also highly recommend This Year's Model for some excellent old punk-attitude with wicked tunes. There is a very good Best Of around which features 2CDs of awesome songs in basically chronological order, which might also be a good starting point, it has most of his well-known songs, some punk, some pop, some of his singer-songwriter stuff, some of his avant-garde things.

i'm not too hip with the transferring of electronic files... if you have a high-speed connection, you could always just zip up and email a few tracks for me to check out.

i read a few predator comics and the first few issues of Alien/Predator: Deadliest of the Species... but i always found that the Alien and Predator comics that Dark Horse did were boring as shit. Now, I LOVE comics, don't get me wrong, but I just think the visuals are too intense for commercial comics. Most of the artists who worked on that stuff didn't have the chops (or possibly the time and finances) to do it right.

Honestly, I'd love to take a shot at an Alien vs Predator comic myself, but it would take a long time to do right.

I think the movie would've been fine with humans, I think that would be the only way you could make it suspenseful without being goofy. The big problem this movie had was they tried to humanize the Predator and it made the whole audience laugh. They should've humanized the HUMANS and let the creatures remain terrifying and mysterious, they could've created a lot of tension if they had the humans pulling for the Predator to win, never really knowing for sure if he would kill them or let them free. This human/predator tag-team shit was a joke though.

if your children don't read choose your own adventure books, they will be not smart and have drastically reduced employment possibilities in later life. for real! i read it in, ummm, popular psychological magazine. hell i put it on my resume: "proficient in choose your own adventure and fighting fantasy books".

Persisarc doesn't have anything for sale as far as I know. He just does it to make others happy. I was trying to convince him to contact some record labels, but I don't think he's interested....

the previous profile pic is by Paul Laffoley, one of my favorite artist people. Insanely detailed metaphysical diagrams that go over my head, but are just so interesting to look at. Another bio page.
