busy busy busy....

A couple of the balls I am juggling at the monment:

We are getting ready for our trip to Florida for my cousin's wedding. We are driving down from NJ with three kids in the back. Are we insane or what?! Not exactly how I planned it months ago, but you know about the best laid plans....But alas, I can't complain because...

Where will you be in Florida? When are you leaving?

I hope everything goes well in court when it comes time. I'm sure it will.

I'm not very organized, either. Never have been. I really want to maker sure this house is organized by the time the baby gets here, but right now we have been focusing on the other house. I guess we have til December.

Yeah- we are SUPER busy right now, too....but Lake Mary is really close to me. Next time plan an extra day to meet up with your SG friends...hehehe

continuing the hailku theme...

I hadn't done one for my almost four year old. It is sort of a confession.

My middle child,
So endearing. But they say
Don't pick favorites.

Do you think it is wrong to have a favorite child or just natural and inevitable? I do my best not to let it show.

I haven't been around much because the kids have...

hello. i read your comment on MadamY's journal. i also had a very young mom. she was in her early sixteenth year when she had me.

for reasons i don't want to go into on a public site, i was taken away and lived in foster care/children's homes for a few years as a kid. when i got out, i was sent to live with my father.

i didn't move into my mother's house until i turned fifteen. she just turned 35. i'm nineteen and living on my own now. we occasionally borrow eachother's clothes. it's fun.

My children's mortality just forced me to aknowledge itself. I am still shaken up.

We were at the laundromat, since our asshole landlord wont fix our washer. My youngest (age 2,) my wild card, went for the door. when I saw him, he was just outside it, I yelled to him to stop and started to run to him. He looked at me and took...

Hi,

Thanks so much for all the birthday thoughts! You are all so nice!

I had a good day. Home in the morning with the little boys and then to an end of the year party in my daughter's 3rd grade class, which I pretended was really for me.

wink

Then we had a few close friends and family over for dinner (I made broccoli and...

I've never heard of that magazine, I will have to give it a look Just the name sounds pretty cool.

As much as I am away from home I try to come up with fun things to share with my son when I am home.
I got 3 new animal noises out of him this past weekend
lielock:
well next week I go on modified bedrest...so the stress should come down.
We were living together for 4 years...but he has issues that he had/has to work through...so I told him I would prefer him to have his own place which he has had for a year. Now he works where I moved from and well I dunno we aren't sure how well we will do with living with each other again so soon..we toss the idea around but we are unsure if it is a mistake. we seem to do so much better when we have our own space (really he has his own mine is shared)

Caught my two year old eating coffe beans.... I think I'm in for a long night.

The appartment search is not going well. Maybe we will stick it out and pretend we don't have a yard for a while. If we stay we could be saving a buy a real house sooner.

I just don't know where I want to settle. The taxes are insane...

Hey happy birthday do you have anything fun planned?
I am hoping to be hiding out in the mountains this year when mine comes up.
That is fun for me.
reverendbenzo:
I don't live anywhere near Atlanta. The times I've been there though, I've always had lots of fun. Georgia isn't as sterotypical as people think. I want to move far away from here but it's not that bad. I can think of worse places to be stuck in.

Just a question....

What thoughts and images come to your mind when you think of New Jersey?

they will be 17 months apart. crazy, i know. we'll have a busy couple of years!!!
zenosdog:
No, it was just the guy across the hall being drunk and shooting roman candles into the night sky. yeah, it's getting a bit ridiculous around here, we pay 1050 a month for a tiny little apartment on elm street. as for the band question, i do alot of freelancing, but mostly, i play with karsh kale. www.karshkale.com

Ouch. I think I fractured a rib. Anybody know how that feels? I've never broken anything before. It hurts when I take a deep breath and sit up too.

I fell off the bottom bleacher holding my 4 y.o. on my hip and landed on my other side without breaking my fall because I was more concerened with protecting him. I'm such a nice mommy....

Rarely......shes like a rock star..there are so many kids that crave her attention daily theres no room for me ya know..and I don't wanna be "one of those"...but I do check up on her sometimes. Besides, its hard for me to have my attention on more than one girl. I'm just not programmed that way.

I think I'm a woman in a man's body...a woman that likes girls of course. whatever
lielock:
yes double trouble twins eeek
Well this was actually maybe 5 years ago and my friend brought me before I tried yoga..or any type of meditation. But I was going through some difficult things and there was a sort of calming afterwards. I have planned to see her again..just haven't gotten around to it..I am on the mailing list for my area so someday I will go.

HOORAY!!! No lead poisening! Thank goodness. We are still looking for another apartment, though. My husband has hated this place since we mooved in and the lead contamination was just the last straw for him... so I've been apartment hunting.

Amber's 9th b-day was lots of fun. She loved her presents, especially the ipod shuffle and the hermit crabs. She was very gracious too. We...

Quick update....

Been very busy. Got our blood drawn. Should find out this week if we have lead poisoning to deal with. Cross your fingers!

It's my first child's 9th b-day today! Big party tonight. Lots of cleaning to do today, and an icecream cake to make. Chocolate cake on the bottom, then B&J chocolate therapy icecream, chocolate cake, vanilla bean ice cream and topped...

Hope the birthday was good....I have a 1st birthday coming up on July 4th for my little one, guess I should get to planning the party!!

We have a couple books in common on our favorites list! smile
starcat:
I've read ALL the birthing books....I used to want to be a midwife, but now I work as a labor and delivery nurse and don't think I want to be a midwife anymore, too much liability. The birth center I go to has red tent parties a few times a year, I really have been meaning to check out that book. It seems I have so little time, and I know its going to be even less in December! I'm thinking of working only part time so I can have more time home!

So I got back the results of the soil test from the lab. Holy shit, it's really fucking high. It is over the benchmark whhere the EPA says it has to be cleaned up. We are renting, so I need to find out who is responsible for that because we have a shitty landlord who does as little around here as he can get away...

hi... what are you doing today!?
thejuanupsman:
Damn, that sucks. It is hard to feel safe anywhere lately. Hope it turns out ok.

Benni & I discovered Corn Mo when he was one of the opening acts at the They Might be Giants show we went to. At first we were both a little hesitant about him. But by the time he was done with his set we were sold. He was not just funny but I thought he had a great voice and at least a few of his songs touched a cord other than just being funny. Really, we were both quite impressed.

Anyway we both decided to list just Corn Mo in our favorite bands. Just as a lark because most people would have no idea who we were talking about. I am always surprised when people notice and say something, smile

I wish I were friends with him. I bet he is a blast to hang out with. We talked to him a bit after the show and he seemed very nice and was very funny.
