Everyone talks about having a bucket list... but I just realized I've never really sat down and made my list! How many items go on a bucket list, anyway??
I decided I need a top 5 for short-term bucket list goals, plus an additional 5 for lifetime! I'm going to separate my short term bucket list goals from the rest by whether or not they are achievable in the world we live in currently... being in the US during a pandemic in a hot zone... these things can be rather tricky! I remain dedicated to finding the lighter side of life and focusing my energy on living a full and happy life.
Short List
1. Explore National Parks down near Terlingua, TX
2. Visit Hot Springs for a weekend of peace and quiet
3. Expand my personal garden to be a regular source of food
4. Expand my home apothecary using ethically sourced or homegrown goods
5. Find and supply Brand Ambassadors for my dread business, optimally getting them and myself published
I feel like the short list may be more about personal goals? The long list will be very different...
Long List
1. Visit Phuket, Bangkok, and Angkor Wat
2. Explore the jungles of Belize
3. See the Pyramids with my own eyes!
4. Learn Chinese
5. Perform for greater than 1,000 people
I feel like I should want to accomplish MORE than just these things... but I live such a wonderful life full of contentment, it is difficult to want for things. I am comfortable and happy. My gorgeous bird brings me joy daily, I am able to stay connected with friends by playing DnD each weekend via Fantasy Grounds and Discord, and I get to create beauty as my job where I am my own boss. Give me ideas of things I could want!! haha! I love to travel, I love electronic music, and I love warmth and comfort and ease. I guess I'm just way too laid back?
Going into 2021 has already been a wild ride here in the United States with the plague, the unsettling situation at the Capitol, and the lack of safe places to gather and be social. I am choosing to focus on the good and the promise a new year brings- and trust in the goodness of others and the process of our democracy.
I would love to hear about your plans for 2021.... Do you have a bucket list? What do you want to work on this year?
