I was asked about my band in my last journal entry, which you should read and comment on, since it's the best thing to have happened to me in a while. So, here it goes, a description of my band.
We are called Shuya, named after the main character in Battle Royale, a film we are all immensly fond of. The band has gone through several lineup changes. Here they go:
Shuya v1-
Dan, guitar/vox
Me, guitar
Chris, bass
Other Dan, Drums
Shuya v2-
Dan, Guitar/vox
Doug, Guitar
Me, all kinds of noisemakers
Chris, bass
Other Dan, drums
Shuya v3-
Dan, Guitar/vox
Doug, Guitar
Chris, bass
Other Dan, Drums
Shuya v4-
Dan, Guitar/Vox
Doug, Guitar
Chris, bass
Jay, drums
(note- the absence of me in versions 3 and 4)
Shuya v5-
Dan, Guitar/Vox
Doug, Guitar
Me, Bass/Vox
Jay, drums
and finally, Shuya v6-
Dan, Guitar/Vox
Me, Bass/Vox
Jay, Drums.
Now that you are bored, here are the juicy details. I quit for a few months because I was sick of Chris. Later, the rest of the band got sick of him, too, kicked him out and brought me in. We've changed our musical focus from screamo to something that sounds like Early Pumpkins meets Helmet with 2 vocalists, Dan, who sings normally and screams, and myself, who sings in baritone, like Brian Molko, and screams like a motherfuck.
Now with Shuya out of the way, I'll briefly discuss The Lux Nova. Besides being my namesake, TLN is my personal, anything goes musical outlet. I've never performed any of it, never recorded any of it, and probably never will. It's just my way of getting out how I feel sonically. There. That sucks.
