I would say welcome, but I am also incredibly new. So it seems to me that would be like walking in the door for a party, turning around and greeting the next person to arrive. The proper analogue would be standing around being awkward and saying hello because we don't know anyone at the party and we both have t-shirts on that list all of our interests...
