Bored... cleaning... Though, physical labor is a great way to end a week of giving and preparing for presentations. I helped build a patio out of stones (probably about 100 to 150 lbs each). It was fun.

Thank you..

I wonder if it is possible for the arcane and often esoteric legal system of this country to become more palatable to our fellow countrymen (yes, I know, failing to use such words as 'countrymen', 'esoteric' and 'arcane' might help). Currently, the Devil's 5 (if you read this anywhere else in print, know that I coined it!)-Scalia, Thomas, Roberts, Alito, and Kennedy-have been repeatedly ass-raping...

I should update, but I don't have anything to say. I'm really fucking busy, and I have a dog.

I know that feeling!

For my knees, they're hoping that surgery isn't necessary, but it's on the table because of the duration of the problem (8+ years), the number of contributing factors (weird arches, the amount of time I've had the problem and been doing sports that aggravate it, the degree to which one part of my quads is overdeveloped compared to the other parts, the fact that therapy hasn't helped during all of this). If surgery is necessary, they're thinking that arthroscopic surgery, which would smooth out the cartilage in the joint, is most likely. But there's also a surgery that would correct the muscular imbalance, and finally, worst case scenario, knee replacement. There's still a good chance that surgery won't be necessary . . . it just depends on how my knees respond to treatment that (a) addresses the severity of the problem and (b) actually has MY best interests (as opposed to those of a sports team) at heart. I want surgery because it would be a quick fix, but it might not be necessary . . . will have to see how the Xrays, orthopaedic evaluation, and therapy go. I'm sorry you're having similar problems. It's a real bummer, to say the least. frown I'd say be pushy about things. I should definitely have been more insistent when the original therapy exercises weren't working. If you haven't seen an orthopaedist yet, ask about it. If you haven't had Xrays yet, ask about them.

I want a dog! What type of dog do you have?

Alright, I need a happier journal on here, so this is going to be it. I have finally gotten some cells to record from the last couple of days, which makes my life a little happier. Oh, and not to brag, but extra-large condoms rock. They don't slide off, go all the way down my shaft, and are just so much more comfortable! I'm still...

I'm just excited about finding condoms that don't give me an allergic reaction or a lube reaction!

Haha... That's O.K. I understand what you mean. smile

^^ Same here, about finding some I'm not allergic to... Bah.

God am I bored. I am taking the longest break from working that I have for years. And I think these 5 days will kill me. I have work to do, but I am trying to get enough energy to make it through another semester. I am ending up reading math textbooks because of the withdrawal.

In other news, I will not be TA'ing for...

Congrats on finishing your undergrad. I'm going into my third first year HAH! At this rate I"ll be fifty before I even decide what I want to study.

Hosted a brat and beer party tonight, which was thoroughly enjoyable. I thought people would drink more than they did, so I have a ton of beer left over. How sad, I guess I will just have to drink a bunch of German beer.
redbstrd:
Happy birthday, comrade!

As I walk around campus it is a strange feeling knowing that I will not see the mall packed with students walking between classes for a long time. My good friend Dusty is leaving in a couple of weeks, he is also leaving for grad school, which is only increasing my reflections on my time here. I am still living in the odd state where...

Yes, I read your blogs. I don't read anyone's on a regular basis at the moment, though, on account of the new format (it is harder to see a list of friend journal updates).

Where are you going to grad school and in what? I can't recall if you told me, but checking through posts and email and all that, I can't see where you would have.

In response to the rhetorical question, we are pretty much ignorant of all international music unless it is from Britain (foreign languages scare us or something). One great thing about living in Kazan was the easy access to Rai music. Check out Cheb Mami or Khaled if you are unfamiliar with Rai. It is some really good stuff.

I am the lamest softball player ever.

While we were warming up (on grass) I stretch to grab a low throw (I play first) and manage to sprain my groin. I spent both games (we play double-headers) limping around the field. Since the only way I've gotten base hit thus far is with speed, this was not good.

Sickie Sick Sick....

Apparently it is true, the Cubs are so bad this year that they can make you physically ill. I went to all three Twins v. Cubs games this weekend and now have a nasty sinus infection. The correlation is obvious. I have to give speeches tomorrow and pretend like I was working all last week. So I am going to sleep now.

SG Conservatives:

In looking around the groups on this site, I ran into the aforementioned one. I have to say that I am quite surprised that such a thing exists. Isn't it the conservatives in our government who would like to shut sites like this down? Does not the name John Ashcroft mean anything? I was very tempted to edit my previous post and pretend...

Trying to rub salt into the wounds of a red-blooded American fan? Too bad, I am a scab also and root for the Germans. Michael Ballack is the greatest midfielder alive.

How did you get into the Conservatives group? They at least appear to have strict membership requirements.
