pygmy tagged me. it was difficult to come up with twenty things, but i will do it on the fly...
1.when i was a very young laddy, many people (teachers educators, parents) thought i had asberger's. i still kinda think i do.
2. i am extremely allergic to pollen. at best my eyes will water, but in late summers i sometimes get asthma attacks. i will keep surgical asks on me for ozone action days.
3. my favorite time of year is indian summer. (is there a more p.c. way to say that?)
4. i will spend 30-40 hours a week watching movies. but that's when i'm depressed, which is most of the time. when i'm not it's more like twenty.
5. also when i was a young laddy, i had a stutter. it's been virtually eliminated by speech therapy.
6. i do environmental recording, and have hours and hours of recordings form windstorms to a beehive (that one was dangerous.)
7. i write poetry using probability theory. i believe that language, and language art should imitate the emergent nature of the universe.
8. i come from a highly religious pentacostal family. however, i decided i was atheist when i was 9 years old, and became a buddhist a few years later. i have still not told my family.
9. when i was a kid, i loved ronald reagan. in a mock election in gym class, i voted for him. the teacher, who is a family friend, told my mom. some fucking secret ballot.
10. i have a native sense of direction. i don't even have to look at the sun to know where i'm going.
11. my cousin was murdered outside of my mother's house. i tried to capture his (presence?) using two radios and a wollensack tape machine. it was the only recording equipment i had.
12. I met john cage. very briefly, and i did'nt know who he was at the time, but the concert (they played williams mix among other things.) was incredible, and changed eveything i though about music. (my favorites when i was that age were bach and black sabbath.)
13. i started playing music when i was four. i would play piano all the time, because i had nothing else to do.
14. one of my earliest memories (that i remeber vividly) is being attacked by my dad's german shepard. my uncle saved me. he commited suicide a few years later.
15. my nickname is jeff, but my full name is not jeffery.
16. despite the fact that i watch movies constantly, i only have two that i've memorized to the point where i can recite them: revenge of the nerds, and the warriors.
17. i like setting things on fire. i used to be a compulsive listmaker. when i moved home for a few years i found all the lists i made when i was a young laddy, and set them on fire metal trashcan. cathartic.
18. someday i would like to go back to alabama and reclaim our family's land, which was rendere completely useless by cotton farming.
19. i have never had a broken bone. i did'nt play outside much when i was a young laddy.
20. i bike all year round. i hope it makes up for my sometimes neoconservative leanings. believe me, i'm trying to purge them, but the 80's was a frightening time for me. nuclear war gave me constant nightmares.
whoah, i did it!

what is happening with antonioni? did he die? i cant say im terribly familiar with his films. ive seen blow up and thats it.
just watching the menu of the five obstructions is quite entertaining. its really very sweet as a story- and has some achingly beautiful moments cinematically.
^^& I agree, the secret ronald reagan thing is funny
#6: hopefully you aren't allergic to bee venom, too
