I've been doing a lot of rifle shooting lately. I'm getting better at the 100 yard shooting, and hopefully I will continue to improve. I wish I could afford to do it every day, instead of just once a week. Anyway, today I decided to put myself through the paces with my 1911, only to discover I only had one fifty round box of .45s to shoot. So, I made the best of it. Took some pictures.
Here I shot 8 rounds, standing, taking on both targets. All shots were hits on the paper target even though all didn't hit on the Shoot-N-C. I started with my pistol holstered, back to the targets, turned, drew, and opened fire until I was empty.
Left, standing.
Right, standing.
Here I shot 8 rounds while sitting in a metal folding chair. I started sitting facing the targets with my pistol holstered, drew, and from a sitting position fired on both targets until I was empty. Again, all shots were hits, just not on the Shoot-N-C.
Left, sitting.
Right, sitting.
My best group, all within 1 inch, shot standing and unsupported.
A three inch spread.
My card, because I'm cool like that!
All of the shots were taken at approximately 7 yards which from everything I have been able to gather is the average distance at which all shooting incidents take place. I practice at further and closer distances, but at this distance the most because it is the most likely to occur (from what I gather). I'm looking into getting one of those things I see all the professionals use to time all of my shots, etc. Can't remember what it's called right off the top of my head and don't feel like looking it up. Anyway, it was a lot of fun and one hell of stress killer.
