Ronald Reagan, sometime in his 2nd term, attended a dinner where industrialist Peter Grace spoke about the right to life, mixing up "fetus" and "feces" in the process... "You were once feces...I started out as feces...we were all feces once". At which point Reagan turned to his neighbor and whispered, "Looks like the feces really hit the fan"

That's quite the malapropism although in some cases perhaps not so much. Ronnie did have a sense of humor; I still use his response to the person asking how it felt to be 75, to which he replied, pretty good considering the alternative.
