I'm not sure how big the news of the German plane crash are in the U.S. and elsewhere... we here are absolutely shocked and dumbstruck, especially at the ever-clearer picture that emerges of the co-pilot intentionally crashing the plane for whatever reason. If true, and we may never know beyond conjecture, this would be so unimaginably evil...the very thought of taking so...

It's pretty big news here. And yeah, as much as I've contemplated (and attempted) suicide, I could never bring down anyone with me...
baalseraph:

You know how writing can be therapeutic? I read some other blogs with a great deal of interest and see how it can be therapeutic to write at length about your inner workings. And I'm fairly certain that no one I know in real life is here on SG, so I can safely write about all I care to share. Don't keep on...

@np33di ...not to mention the expectation of a Lisboa vacation ;-)
np33di:
yes :D

I was stoked to find an article in the Washington Post Online about the rivalry between the two Rhineland cities of Cologne and Duesseldorf (the latter being my hometown). The writer focused on the aspect of that rivalry that concerns the types of beer brewed in and favored by those two cities. Both the "Koelsch" drunk in Cologne, and the "Alt" preferred in Duesseldorf are...

Your photography skills are impressive. The colors are so vibrant.// The beer looks tasty. // I like the word "quaff" -- it doesn't get as much usage as it should. I'm going to make a concerted effort to use it today. Also <3
kaicito:
@adelina That skyline pic isn't by me, I should add. And yes, I was thinking of "hoist" but then thought of the quainter "quaff" :-) <3

Well, well, well, did I ever tell you ol' uncle Kaicito has a thing for sexy schoolgirl outfits? Not wearing 'em, mind you - just looking at them preferably when worn by a super sexy girl the likes of which the old uncle never saw in his own school days, long gone now of course. The kind of girl like the former Hopeful formerly known as...

And you-- a crochety ol' uncle? Haaa! You are a funny bunny. <3

Whoa, holy bathtub! Easily my most anticipated movie this year.

adelina:
Yes! I need to see this. When does it hit the theaters? Come watch the kids for me?! Teehee. ;-)

Couldn't be happier about the Set of the Day - lovely tribute by @auburn for one of Wes Anderson's finest films.

Got your attention? Good! I meant to share that I just bought this handsome Library of America edition of four of Philip K. Dick's very best novels. I love them all and look forward to re-reading them, especially UBIK, a truly mind-bending masterwork. Everyone needs a little Dick in their lives ;-)

We read a few of his stories in high school. I think I wrote an essay on Second Variety haha
baalseraph:
Die Geschichten von Philip K. Dick gehören in jede halbwegs gut sortierte Sci-Fi-Sammlung. Viel Spaß damit! :)

The housewife in me needs this...

adelina:
PS And are you mildly obsessed with being a housewife?! Is there a future sex-change operation you're not tellin' us about?
kaicito:
@adelina You know, short of ironing, I could just see me as a housewife... my wife makes more than I do anyway. I could be a stay-at-home hubby :-)

OK, it's just one print...and it already arrived today - but then the gag wouldn't work (Try singing "To-day my print arrived...")! Stoked to have my @drave Etsy print in my grubby little pie-baking hands... tiny regret is that there's is a minuscule tear in it, but I'll overlook that. Now where to put it? Out of my wife's sight...

Hmmm... where the wife won't see it. Tough. Behind the books on your bookshelf?
kaicito:
@adelina It's not really a problem, I'm totally aboveboard with her. She's gonna see it, but I'm not gonna hang it up somewhere...it'll go in my "celebrity autographs" folder, where James Stewart and Nancy Reagan will probably be surprised by the newcomer ;-)

On my day off, made a pear pie from scratch. Who wants a slice?

@adelina My pie will be history soon enough ;-)

I want one! Or the receipe :)
