In the past three days I've the most sublime experience I've had involving poetry in a long time, followed by the most ridiculous.
I told you about the first. Those women are good. The shame is that only a few people were there, because they were from out of town.

But last night I saw my old friend the Pompous Ass clear out the same...

my daughter, the revolutionary

Last night I called my daughter to check in on her. She was at some place in Seattle, at a meeting of revolutionary elements.
The phone connection wasn't very good, but I know it had something to do with either Syria or serious. Maybe sirius?
Whatever.
But at least she's a revolutionary.
She's also an accomplished poet, in fact remarkably good...

Your daughter sounds awesome. She'd have to be, being related to you.

Your daughter is cool as hell. Whenever I hear about a person with a free mind, I feel better about the state of things... it's so sad to meet someone who is a full adult, like 30+, who is so completely blind and just being led to the slaughter again and again... because you know they can't be saved anymore.. when I meet someone young with an open mind, I think that's one more person we have on our side... I'll go nuts if I have an uptight, self-righteous, narrow-minded little bastard for a child

I just saw the best poetry reading I've ever seen. 4 women and one guy from Seattle came to town. They're caled Oratrix.
The thing I liked the best was the woman who articulated why working class types likes me are offended by the high-handed attitude of middle class Democrats. Why in fact they vote Republican.
It's offensive to be told you're stupid because you...

I've never been to a poetry reading before, but I really enjoy spoken word. I've never tried my hand at that though. I'm more about written poetry... in fact, I would love to publish a book of poetry illustrated with my drawings. 'Tis a dream of mine. biggrin Hope you're having a good day. It's raining like a motherfucker here in San Diego. frown I hate rain.

xoxo, CC

Tomorrow is a special day for me, a private little occasion I never forget.
It was twenty-six years ago on that day that I was dosed with PCP by parties unknown.
I remember the moments just before I dropped into a coma.
I laid myself down on a concrete pedestal, apparently right in the middle of it, then I took my can of Copenhagen out...

There are only so many stars
many of them owned already
and just a little light
that can really be called yours
out of all that pours through heaven.

the love takes your money and the money
takes your love

let's call tonight's moon property.
that makes us thieves
who lie out aching
or hungry, sick of being clay
pieces with that angry illumination.

can't...

Your horoscope, courtesy Madame Krakanova

Taurus (April 20-May 20) It may be time to make that move. Everything is moving all around you, and sometimes it's all you can do to keep up. This may be one of those times. Keep up.

Gemini (May 21-June 21) Maybe you're team isn't undefeated anymore. Maybe it's worse than that. Is that any reason to throw in the...

Leo (July 23-Aug. 22) Just when you thought you were somewhere, you discover you are actually somewhere else. Still, you're somewhere. Just deal with it and things will take of themselves.

This is a lie. My true horoscope is this, brought to you by me:

Leo (July 23-Aug.22) You are fucking broke and your heart beats like an off-beat clock. Clack-tink clack-tink clack-tink. Sounds like the pennies in your pocket, and they don't buy shit.

Ordinarily when I go out to drink I drink beer only. I find it's possible to stay more sensible this way.
Last night, however, someone had the bright idea that we should all drink shots of tequila after first polishing off 3 bottles of sake at the chinese restaurant.
So it was tequila shots at a very funny bar with people older and crustier than...

There's really nothing in the world like getting your hands down someone else's pants, even if it's only for a moment, with everything going on as normal on all sides. It's that soft flesh (especially if you've been lusting after it for a while), and the willingness to be touched.
I may be a lusty old fart but once in a while I get my...

"Unchain My Heart" Ray Charles

I woke up this moring and realized I don't feel sorry for myself anymore. that trip around the north end of California did something good for me.
I haven't mentioned eskimo girl in a few days and believe me that's good news.
I saw her only once after promising those other girls not to see her anymore. It was to...

I was good tonight. I ended up going to open mike night. Gave them 3 poems. Sometimes at a reading I mean what I say. lately that hasn't been the case all the time. I've had a great many doubts about whether I should get up in front of people and pretend to be interesting.
But I know what I've put into the poetry--a lot...

Well I have to turn the rental car in this afternoon. It was fun driving for a while but I only really enjoyed it when I was far from the city. Driving to San Francisco last night just felt dangerous. I can't believe so many people do it every day. What a strange world.
I have to do some writing today. Probably it will be...

My motives were complicated, yet simple. It was a question of needing to be somewhere else, although noplace specific. And I more or less had to end up in Lemmon Valley yesterday, to check in with my brother.
What can I tell you about it? I saw mountains and valleys, eagles and coyotes, water and snow.
Sometimes a snow flurry scraping over a high mountain...

I am sorry I have not been around lately. My personal life is nothing but a giant fan, and my love life is nothing but buckets of shit being thrown into it.

I'm sure I'll post a story soon detailing the whole goddamn mess...

Actually that LSD poem was pretty much a parable of my life right now.
