Wow, I can't believe that more than a month has passed since my last post. This summer is absolutely flying by! I've been pretty busy traveling around and having mini adventures so I thought I'd share some pictures from the last couple of weeks with you all.
I've been continuing the field work I'm conducting for my thesis, and it took me down south to the United States for about a week. I spent some time in Ohio and Michigan, and I was finally able to actually see the butterfly that I'm working to reintroduce to Canada in the wild. I also ate some amazingly good pizza, and hung around at the Toledo Zoo for a day with some other conservation biologists where I met a new shelled friend!

I saw some neat insects once I came back to Canada, and I perved on a couple of Scarabidae beetles getting it on in Toronto. In my defence, they weren't really being sneaky about it!

I got to see the awesome Canadian east-coast band Great Big Sea perform in Toronto, and I took in a Blue Jays game as well. I also went to the Canadian Open with my dad.

I bought this t-shit because I just couldn't resist the opportunity to walk around with Bill Murray's face on my chest. I adore that man.

This past weekend my girlfriend and I went to her cottage in northern Ontario. It was so wonderfully secluded up there, we spent a couple days swimming, hiking and eating like royalty. We met a couple of really cute juvenile frogs and toads on our hikes too!

Here's a couple of shots I liked from my garden, and as always a couple shots of my little friend!

I'm really trying to get more active on this site. I've been reading and commenting on more members' blogs, and I'm really hoping to make some new friends! I hope everyone's having a great summer!
Cheers,
Jess

Great to know! I've not spoken to anyone who has tried it out, I've just been ridiculously keen to get one and learn. I'd love to get some speed up on one!
