With this world we live in, so overwhelmingly rich with opportunities, it's already hard enough for most people to decide what they want to focus their limited time and energy on. For me though, it seems tougher still, as I'm endlessly curious, which basically means EVERYTHING is interesting! How do I pick just a few things to devote myself to?

First world problems indeed!

so here I am again, back in SG-land... someone gifted me 3 months free access, but according to the email from SG HQ, this person declined to reveal themselves.

Does it make me savvy, or merely cynical, that my first thought was "this is astroturf -- SG HQ themselves are 'buying' gift access for former users."?

(though if it *wasn't* them, then my curiosity is...

After more than a year, I still can't say I understand the advantage to the SG style of blog commenting, where one replies to comments on one's own blog by commenting on the other person's latest blog post, even if it's a wholly unrelated subject. Why doesn't SG do threaded conversations, so I can reply within my own blog and have the thread actually hold...

Gus is very calm and tame. He's very young--just weened probably so that may have something to do with it. He falls asleep on my sister's lap. Groundhogs usually live much longer in captivity than in the wild--a captive groundhog can live about ten years, in the wild they live about three to five years. I have no idea if other captive groundhogs are quite as tame and cuddly as Gus is, though the fact that he's sick may have something to do with it too. The plan is to teach him to how to fend for himself and then take him out to the woods and make sure he's got a safe burrow for the winter. Or have the local animal shelter/zoo place take him in. If he lives that long.

And thanks for the compliments!

I'm stunned.

Somehow Riae's latest set, "Sweet Jack", hasn't gone live yet! Go check it out, and be sure to leave some nice comments if you like the set.

And if you don't like it, well... I know there's no accounting for taste, so I guess I can't say you're crazy, but I definitely don't understand you.

Actually, no, fuck that. If...

I've been with my girlfriend for almost 3 years now, and she's still just as sexy and awesome today as she was when we first got together. We have our fights and disagreements, but my life is far better with her in it.

Check out this great picture of her over here.

Now if only she'd ever put out, things would be perfect!
lucidreamer:
Ummmmmmm... her putting out may not be what you imagine it to be...

I re-read my last blog entry and cringed a bit. I know I'm prone to moodiness, but that was a bit more over the top than I prefer, so I wanted something else on my front page.

Anyway...

I've been feeling really disconnected lately, though I'm slowly crawling out of my hole, I think. It helps that I'm seeing a fantastic new shrink. She's smart...

1. Take insatiable curiosity and saturate thoroughly with ADD, depression, and anxiety
2. Gather together this chaotically whirling mess you've just created and bind it together with a sharp intellect.
3. Anthropomorphize.

Voila, you now have your own real, live jensck action figure!

...congratulations?

I've been reading a book about ADD called "Driven to Distraction". It's incredibly depressing...

Is this one of those corny "break the ice" exercises? I'd rather not, thanks.
clio:
No, it's so we can read what you're about.
jensck:
Heh, ok, you got me - my cynicism meter was red-lining that day. In fact, the afternoon I wrote that, I think I was wearing my Bad Attitude(TM) shirt:
