Well, there's nothing new in general in life, so I'll just talk about an adventure run I did yesterday. It's called the Hometown Hero Run, and it was a 4-mile course through the woods with some obstacles thrown in to mix it up. I'd planned on running it with my sister, but she twisted her ankle a while back and is still recovering, so I went with two of my cousins. One wasn't in the greatest of shape, so about a mile into it he started feeling sick. He kept telling us to go ahead, but we'd already agreed to stay together for it, and I don't make a habit of leaving people behind. I guess I've got high school JROTC to thank for that. One obstacle was a tire drag/carry, and I opted for carrying the thing, so my shoulder isn't too happy with me right now. But, it's just tender when I touch it, it's not really bothering me otherwise. The others really did a number on my legs, though. They're all cut up and sore, and my right leg's got some rope burn, so that'll be fun when I put my work boots on tomorrow. I can say for sure that I would've had a much harder time with the course if I hadn't been working out, so at least I've seen how it's helped me already. I sparked one friend's interest when I told her about the course, so next time I'll have another friend to bring along, because these things are definitely better with good company.
