Friday night at work was pretty stupid. I'm driving my work truck, a large 30ft straight truck, into the Federal Reserve by making a right turn, on a one-lane street. Well some genius decides that he's going to try to pass me ON THE RIGHT while I'm turning. Another guy sees him and motions for me to stop, so I do, but by this time I'm well into the turn, so genius runs up on the sidewalk to avoid plowing into me. He doesn't make the turn as well as he thinks he would, so his rear bumper still hits my front tire and gets all fucked up. The worst part for him? He's now headed right into the Federal Reserve, and they don't take kindly to uninvited guests. By which I mean, had he gone a few feet farther, he'd probably be dead.
We got pictures of the scene before the police arrived to make a report. No one was injured, my truck just had a small mark from where the car rubbed it, and his bumper was jacked up, but that was it. The guy got a ticket, and somehow I almost got one, even though I was in my lane the entire time. Some bullshit about swinging out too wide, when I never crossed the center line. I didn't, though, so I'm happy about that. Today I get to see how my boss took the news, but I figure if I wasn't ticketed, it obviously wasn't my fault.
Saturday night was also interesting. I was at a small party with some friends, and when we all crashed there was a dude and a chick on the couch beside me in a recliner. Both of them wearing glasses, they decided that the only way to check if I was awake was to look over without their glasses on. So I got to spend some time listening to a few lovely sounds. Yes, I could've spoken up, but I knew they could do with the friendly company. I was sure to mention it after they were done, and they practically drowned me in apologies. Maybe I'm a bad person, but I thought it was funny.
