Ok... So here's what's been going on...
We got the boat down from NY and put it in a marina, (we know the owners), in Delran NJ. It's about 9 miles noth of Philly on the NJ side, (obviously). While we were bringing the boat down, we got a call from Alan's sister telling us his father was in the hospital and might not make it out. So once we got to NJ, we got on a plane and flew out to Santa Cruz, CA. (I LOVED IT! I want to live in Cali sometime before we leave for our circumnavagation.)
By the time we got there his father was doing better, (oh yeah, and this was my first time meeting my father-in-law). We flew into Cali on Tuesday, where there Wednesday and flew home Thursday. Well, things didn't quite go to plan on the way back... We had a layover in Houston... So there was a storm and the flight turned from a 3 1/2 hour flight to a 7 hour flight... We were actually on the ground waiting for a terminal while our connecting flight left. So, we were stuck in Houston overnight. The nixt flight they could get us on was the next evening. We took a taxi to a hotel, but it brought us to the wrong one. It left while we were inside finding out it was the wrong one, and while we were doing that, another taxi brought more people to that hotel, (they where supposed to go to the same one as us). Once we all found out it was the wrong one, we asked the taxi driver to take us to the right one... he didn't want to! By this time, I'm PISSED! The driver got in the cab to leave. I stepped off the curb in front of the car, looked him dead in the eyes and told him he WAS taking us to the right one. He gave in and did so, but he bitched about it the whole way there... THEN, he charged us all as if we had taken seperate cabs, (there were two couples and a single guy). So we were at the right place, we went to bed... it was about midnight. The next morning, I got a call at 11am telling us we needed to check out or pay for another night, (mind you our flight didn't leave till 7pm). We got a cab and went back to the airport, (George Bush Intercontinental Airport). When we got there, we asked an employee if there was a lounge or something on the "non-secure" side... he told us there wasn't, so we got into the security line. Once we got up to the medal detectors, we showed them our boarding passes and stepped through. Now, we knew we were going to be stopped, because we were bringing back an unusual sculpture, (it's of a Harley engine). They stopped the line and put us in a sectioned off section as the called for a male and female security officer. By this point I was getting nervous. There we were standing in front of everyone, (probably about 100-150 people), holding up the line waiting for security to give us extra attention... Finally, (about 5 minutes later), they took us to a side area, (still veiwable to the public) and gave us each a pat down and went through our bags, (one carry on and my purse). They even "swabbed" our shoes! By this point, I was having the worst panic attack I've had in YEARS! We were told we where selected randomly by our airline, (Continetal), to get special secutiry attention. There were markings on our boarding passes to let security know... And this means EVERY TIME we went through security! We tried to get it taken off my pass, (due to my social anxiety disorder), but no one could (would?) help. FINALLY, we got on the plane on time... but due to weather were once again delayed, a 3 1/2 hour flight taking 7 hours... again!
Everything went back to "normal" for about a week or so, then my mother-in-law offered to take the girls, for about 2 weeks for an intensive kid's pottery class, (of which I'm picking them up right now... on my MIL's computer). Then yesterday, I got a call from a friend and he let me know a mutual friend just died of a heart attack the night before...
However, I did get to see a midnight show of Pirates of the Carribean. LOVED IT!
But that has been my past few weeks...
We're still moving from the other boat to our new boat and don't have internet. I'm hoping that it won't be much longer till I have it... I miss you all. I miss blogging (almost) everyday...
XOXOXO

Oh, don't spoil Pirates for me! I'm gonna see it in a few days at the Imax when things calm down and there's not so many people there and I can sit in the middle of the theater. I'm way excited.
Good to hear the FIL is okay!
Sorry your flight sucked. And that you had to get stopped by security when boarding the plane.
That cabby was a huge jerk. Charging each of you individually.... what a wanker.
Sorry about your friend.
YAY! Pirates!
Have a great day!
