The Dallas Cowboys are arguably the kings of the 90's! Winning multiple Superbowls. Cowboys fans have become spoiled. Dallas has become a city of fans expecting championships. Unfortunately Jerry Jones and company have not delivered. To get back to those days you have to reverse engineer. Take a look at what made those teams great. And repeat those efforts. One thing that stands out about those teams is the roster. Those days the Cowboys were packed with superstars and great supporting players. How did that happen? Enter Jerry Jones and Mike Mccoy. That was a time when the Cowboys were know wheeler and dealers. In fact after Dallas completed the Herschel Walker trade (theft), many teams wouldn't deal with the Cowboys because of fear of getting fleeced. Dallas had an edge. The knew how to evaluate personnel better than the rest of the league. Remember when the Saints traded there whole draft for Ricky Williams? Unfortunate for the Saints they had no rules or system in place to tell them no, that's crazy! Dallas' true edge came from winning in the war room, and evaluating talent better than the rest of the league. But success can only last so long. As coordinators left for other jobs, they took a little of the system with them. And now the entire league evaluates talent based upon some version of the Cowboys original system. The Cowboys edge came from innovation and the forward thinking of Jerry Jones and Mike Mccoy. Can Dallas find an edge again? Left in the hands of master marketer and business man Jerry Jones you have to think yes.
