my sweet and dear ~ i just read your dnc thoughts ~ as suspected. the convention has been quite exciting, but as with so many things, it tells (on tv) better than it lives (in boston). now, hopefully this will mobilize voters to change our leadership in nov. *xs fingers*
that is a very silly hat! i hope your head has recovered from wearing it. seriously, if you have a bad headache, let me introduce you to my new lover, excedrine quicktabs. seriously, we've been making out almost daily for about two weeks, and eqt gives the best head ... relief. a double dose cured a migraine that had already progressed to photosensitivity and .

the simple purchase of earplugs has made my sleep much sounder, and helped drown out the construction (well, mostly demolition at this point) right outside my bedroom window. i'm actually feeling somewhat perky today.
since i live in the boston area, it's only fitting that i let fly with my non-expert opinions on the event that's engulfed our bucolic coastal town this week...
The construction outside my house has recently reached a new fevered pitch, interrupting my normally nocturnal lifestyle by waking me up too early in the day. A big thank you to the rain gods for intervening and filling last night with vibrant delicacy. And for halting any thoughts of hammers on metal and chainsaws today.
Time to get to work...so much around me seems to... Read More
chain saws are pure evil. nothing good can come of them. and they are one of the few tool use noises that makes me c-r-a-z-y. ack!! hopefully they have stopped by now and your ears are recovering.
so, what has it been like w/ the convention all about? i heard a report that was talking about how little extra commerce the dnc is generating, so i wondered if this spilled over to traffic, etc. as well. have you been able to attend (if you would even want to)?
so provincetown, despite not displaying anything new or remotely revolutionary this year, was still pretty much a delight. it's amazing how much the actual weather affects the pleasure quotient in a resort town. when the sun is shining everything is funtastic...but when the skies threaten rain everything and everyone displays a patina of crankiness.
that's it for now...just a minor observation. and a great big... Read More
mmmmm, i've been meaning to catch up to the rest of the world and read geek love! i am gonna pilfer your favorite books list for even more.
ptown is exactly that - pleasant and harmless. from what i understand it is full on during pride, but i suspect it is more energetic, but not more radical. glad you had fun!
after looking at my new profile pic, i've decided it's time to find a new moisturizer.
summer fun: am going to provincetown this sunday for a few days with my beloved Su. i hope there's the remote possibility of some sort of gay scene there...
my ex showed me around there last summer i did not see anything that would indicate to me that any sort of "gay scene" as you put it exists...
then again, i spent a whole afternoon at rehoboth beach wondering why my friend and i were the only men around before it finally dawned no us that we were on a lesbian beach.
I've lived in Boston for almost 19 years, and was finally persuaded to attend a Red Sox game on Sunday. And I actually had myself a rather pleasant time. Surprised? Not more than I am, let me assure you.
Summer's supposed to be a languid time spent drinkin' lemonade down by the ol' creek, if you believe the literature. But it appears to be a... Read More
and yes to your trait - how i have worked on such things. it is hard when the made makes a MillionCOnnectionsAtOnce. but alas, the quiet must be respected to, right?
so, i will look forward to hearing more about this change later, yes?
and red sox games are only as good as the company you keep. i imagine a game with you would be smashing.
I've always heard the rumor that baseball was more interesting in person..... Up here we have about 2/3 yankee fans and 1/3 red sox fans, due to the proximity of their respective cities. I like the red socks since a.)I was born in boston b.) It takes character to like the red socks and c.) buying all the best players isn't really sporting. but I also try to remind people that my opinion on baseball teams doesn't really matter, since I'm not actually at all interested in baseball.
Yeah, I really hope I get this job!!! I may not find out for a few weeks. THis is the first job I've ever applied for that I needed to make a resume for instead of just filling out the aplication form!
anyway, summer in new haven is a partial respite from the yalies. (not all of them leave, and we are inundated with summer students, a good portion of whom are high school students.)
We always expect there to be a great deal more parking while the Yalies are away, however Yale always seems to use this time to do building maintenence that magically eats even more parking spaces than they normally use.
A great big thank you to everyone who's offered their congratulations and well wishes for my most recent journal entry, either in person and/or in my journal. I'll be stopping by yours over the next couple of days, if I haven't already, to thank you personally for your joyous outpourings of support and friendship.
And in case you missed it, the entry in question goes... Read More
and again, YAY. i am so glad yr a giddy, squishy, dancy type, because this is the perfect situation to relish in that sort of sentiment. joyjoyjoy.
as for my reduced visibility, something happened and i came to an awareness that i made myself vulnerable and need more privacy. i may reprofile after some time, but no more pictures ever.
and thank you for continuing to think about the book thing! you are so sweet. wheneverwhenever.
So, enough with that questionaire thing. If you still want to answer it, go back to my previous journal entry. Otherwise, it's gone from my agenda. To those who took the time, effort and energy to respond and delight me with your wonderful and enlightened answers, I send you my thanks and a great big hug. No kisses to those who might not be expecting... Read More
I nicked this little question session, so have some fun, if you want, courtesy of Smuffy, via Felicia and Pip:

2. Are we friends?
3. When and how did we meet?
4. Do you have a crush on me?
5. Would you kiss me?
6. Describe me in one word.
7. What was your first impression?
8. Do you... Read More
SG Burlesque in Boston last night...and it was great. So many wonderful people! And the chance to meet my SGCT friends WelnTaod, Elbereth and King_Of_Skulls, plus an added bonus: AmazonRed13 in person. And they are as amazing as I suspected.
Saturday night. Well, early evening, actually. It was still light out. The Skinny Puppy concert has drawn many people I never see in natural daylight out of the shadows.
Tweaker played a short and somewhat confusing set to anyone familiar with their albums. The white-suited singer kind of Perry Farrelled his way through the songs. A short break for merchandise purchasing and a quick smoke,... Read More
Hey! that was fun!

I love Boston.
