i leave to visit my family in arizona for the holidays in exactly one week, and there's so much to get done before i go.

the songs are coming along well, though. and i'll probably find some time to see the lemony snicket movie.

it's bloody cold here. hope this finds you well and warm. kiss

you, my love, are a living doll. thank you for your sweetness.

and yes, it is very much a consideration along the lines of that performance project, about which my feelings grow increasingly mixed. i do think that considering representation matters, and is relevant, and yet i am in many ways unsatisfied with the subject matter. i think part of the reason why i am experiementing so heavily with form right now is because i find my content less satisfying than i anticipated. i kind of feel like i can't really get into the space i want to be - into an anonymous space - because i am so named in my skin 'round these parts. does that make any sense at all? so, yeah ... it is strange. i am also discovering not so much stage fright, but a certain contempt for observational eyes ... well, contempt is too strong but - something between resistance and resentment. now, the real question is, am i just projecting my ambivalence about myself onto them? this i do not know for sure. what i DO know is that part of it is the internalized judgement and silencing of my near and less than dear. oh my, how i ramble on ... but i think you get it. i think you oh so know.

wishing you much musical success, as i've long known you have the genius. have fun in the az, precious. and wishing you and your boy much togetherness in your affianced holiday times. kiss
quiescence:
Sorry that I haven't been out of late, but the 60 odd hour work weeks are doing that to me...

Have fun back in the warm weather with the family.

The holiday parties have started, and I've been to three this week.

My head hurts.

parties have really slowed down here. there was barely ANYTHING going on here in LA this weekend. but it was okay. this gives me time to do a little work around here. there's always plenty of it to do.

on the last entry: good to hear that you're working with some heavyweights! that's how you get great, you dig?
boundcreature:
fun times as always mr. dj. i think i may have danced myself into stupidity this week...

better try to get some work done!

So, a couple of days ago I emailed Neil Gaiman the completed version of the song we wrote together, "Unresolving", which is part of the Hidden Variable project I've been in the middle of recording for a while now. Neil wrote the words, I wrote the music. Besides the wonderful reply I received back from him, he's been writing about it in his journal over...

Holy shit! As your project gains more and more momentum and good fortune, I'm only that that more looking forward to hearing it!!! I just started re-reading Gaiman's American Gods the other day and have tore myself from it to nuzzle my girl and edit pics from SG Cabaret a couple of weeks ago. If interested, you can find them here. wink

sounds like you're in a great place creatively and connectively. I applaud. smile

sorry i haven't had much to say lately.
i've just been plugging away at recording my album, and you don't need to hear all of the tech gobeldygook i've been dealing with. but that's where most of my waking hours have been spent lately. and work, which has been amusing and fun.
the things that entertained me this week:
"the incredibles" is incredible.
and i'm...

spent today and yesterday clearing out music archives from my computer, and burning them to cd, so i have room to make more music. it was very time consuming, but i believe i hear my computer uttering a sigh of relief. it must feel so...svelte now, not having all of those files just lying around taking up space.

it was a fun week at the...

it's not so much that bush won that has made me depressed. it's the mindset of a majority (granted, not a huge one, but still a majority) of people living here. clinton was impeached for getting a blowjob in the white house, despite presiding over brilliant economic times, and being a well-spoken and thoughtful hard worker. w has blatantly lied to the american people aboiut...

Well....

I sure do agree...
It's not so much that really A typical presidential cantidates always win....

but it's the reason why they win that bothers me.
Because no one thinks..... well... a great majority doesn't think.

I say fuck it anyway, since even if everyone in the US voted for someone else.... it's still technically possible that Bush could be elected in the electoral college...

Once again... making absolutely no sense what so ever.
Hey I like some stuff about america.... but... when did we become nationalist Facists is my question?
boundcreature:
thanks.

tonight was AWESOME.

it was everything i was hoping for when i decided to go out tonight.

i knew nobody was gonna be there and it was gonna be a night of (mostly) dancing by myself, and you totally delivered the goods, and gave me lots of fun stuff to dance to.

you should play X next time i am there. i was gonna request it but i couldn't think of a song i wanted to hear.

oh, and playing the RAMONES song "sha la la (howling at the moon)" or "somebody put something in my drink" would be pretty bad-ass as well.

***

oh, and what the hell is up with that FRANZ FERDINAND song? every bone in my body is telling me to hate it because they are way popular and trendy right now, but holy shit its so good i can't help it! i finally danced to it tonight after resisting the urge for over a month and it was totally awesome.

i am so, so sad. kerry has conceded the election, and will be giving a speech to that effect soon. this country is turning into an environment i just can't abide by anymore. 4 more years of being in the proverbial handbasket on its slippery slope to...well, you know where.

vancouver is looking mighty beautiful these days.

on the other hand, it is heartening to...

now it's time to vote
so maybe that other creepshow
will come to an end too.

that's all.

Hope you had a fantastic time with your boy and at work, as well... Yes, it goes w/o saying that we will at one point amass our ourselves and get drunk like there's no tomorrow...for we would've knocked back concoctions through the next day. biggrin That will have to be a New Year's resolution! wink
arachnequarius:
hell yes.

*crosses everything*

love to you. kiss

Big wishes for everyone who bothers to read this:
Hope you're having a Happy Halloween.

I've been spinning for Halloweenish activities at the club since Wednesday, and am looking forward to actually having real Halloween off from work. I'll be attending a Masquerade Wedding with Su for a couple of very dear friends of ours. My costume, if i do say so myself, is pretty...

what's your costume?

i'm not sure where my halloween is going just yet, but so far this week i have dressed up like the Ultimate Warrior (and danced to Thriller), watched 5 horror movies with granny and gone to see GWAR, so, i'm doing just fine with my halloween festivities.

Time to pick out some fabulous outfits and play dress-up.

Because the weekend is beginning, and in the immortal words of The Shaggs:

"It's Halloween, it's Halloween,
It's time for spooks, it's time for screams...
It's Halloween!"

yup...been reading lots of manuals. but, i felt guilty that i haven't updated my journal in a while.

things are working, though. it's amazing what a little extra readin' time will do to make things do the things they're supposed to.

i'll visit you all soon, and leave a silly and probably innapropriate comment.

oh HELL yes ~ those are MARVELOUS suggestions! i'm playing around right now with various painting objects, and henna would be marvelous, especially since it would leave traces for the future. well, a few days or so at least. but, part of what i am really interested in is what leaves traces and what accumulates in/on people via that kind of subjectivity. it would be so rad, too, if pple wrote something ASSUMING it would be washed off, then saw me walking around with their unfiltered ideas on my body. rock. that would totally confront the idea of harmlessness and attach their behavior to a sort of temporality that challenges the brevity/levity defense (as i am calling such dismissive statements as "oh s/he didn't hear me, knows i'm kidding, etc)". you are brilliant.

and i am glad to be back in my virtual home. i was rather testing myself/needs etc. by leaving, and discovered this is a healthy outlet place that really complements my life as opposed to a bad habit. plus, i love you guys. especially you guy. kiss
