Alas, the time has come for the magical update. Let me recount the joys of a wonderous existence- escape to far away lands to uncover hidden secrets and amazing spectacles.......
I'm such an ass.
I'm sitting here watching History channel....next on...a special on HELL! joy!
Anyways.... I've had a hell of a week (haha no pun intended you fucks) I survived my journey this past weekend to Chicago and didnt wind up murdered and nailed to a telephone pole in Gary, Indiana....so all is good. I had a great time thanks to my girlie Ap0cAlYpSe_Me0w hooking up some great seats to see the Rolling Stones in Chicago. She also managed to find a nice little hotel in Chinatown and get everything arranged for us.....She's so fucking cool. The fact we were only there for a weekend didn't seem to matter as everything was squared away in advance....so it gave us plenty of time to explore and have fun once we arrived. We left Friday night and drove out, passing through Gary on the way (Go Jackson 5 yeah!) and got to our hotel around 3:00 in the am. We managed to get settled in and got enough zzzz's in time to go out exploring the next day. We did alot of walking and touring the city up until we met up w/my cousin that I hadn't seen in over 8 years. He told us about the bar on the 96th floor of the Hancock Building, so we avoided paying $10 each just to go to the observatory. The money we would have spent wound up going towards drink at the bar. (Fuck yeah!) After chillin at the bar for awhile, we left the skyscraper to go find some grub before it was time to go the concert. We found this corner hot dog and burger joint that looked sort of tasty, so went in and got some food. We had pretty much finished eating when this bum came in and started asking for change. Apparently he had been told by the kitchen workers before that he couldnt be in there asking for change as a worker came up and asked him to leave. The bum immediately got pissed and started yelling abut how one day he was going to "pull it on him" and send the kitchen worker to the hospital down the street. The worker told him to get out again and started walking the bum to the door. Just before he got to the door the bum turned around and slapped the worker upside the head. The worker instantly started to retaliate and land punches on the bum. Before the fight got too out of hand, the kitchen worker landed a right hook on the bum's temple and had the bum struggling to open the door to get out. Once the bum managed to get his way through the door he immedietaly started running down the street w/the worker just on his heels. All in all it was some funny shit- go to the corner food joint and get free entertainment! It was all good...
We left shortly after and said goodbye to my cousin and went back to the hotel to get ready for the show. We didnt spend long back at our room and then caught a cab to the show when we were ready to go. I have to say, seeing the Stones was fucking awesome! We had really good seats, despite this fucking toolbox that sat next to us trying to act like the Rolling Stones encyclopedia for his fat-ass girlfriend. They wound up playing plenty of the hits I wanted to hear, including Honky Tonk Woman, Brown Sugar, Sympathy For the Devil, You Can't Always Get What You Want, Satisfaction, & Its Only Rock N Roll. They had a huge stage setup that was quite possibly one of the most impressive I have ever seen. During Miss You a portion of the stage lifted up and transported the band out to a mini-stage out in the middle of the stadium where they played a few songs for a newly found front row audience. Good shit. The only real downside to the show was the mass exodus of people that we got trapped in while leaving the stadium. We did, however, manage to amuse ourselves by pulling spiders off the fences outside and dangle them in front of preppy bitches that talk too fucking loud about preppy bitch bullshit. We also started shouting "Pork chop sandwiches!" and "We're all dead! WE'RE ALL FUCKING DEAD!' at the top of our lungs to the shock of surrounding bystanders.
We finished out our evening in northen Chicago at this cool diner/bar that was open 24 hours. Afterwards, we delt with this annoying fat fucker on the train ride back to our hotel. What an ass. This dude was drunk as fuck and trying to start shit w/anybody he could. This motherfucker had man tits...and he probably couldnt even find his own dick without a roadmap. I wanted to kick out his kneecaps. His friends eventually pushed him out the door w/Lacy yelling at him to buy a fucking bra. It was classic.
We spent Sunday eating some excellent Chinese food and met up w/SG member Corneilus_Wright while still in Chinatown. We did some shopping and then went out to the Aquarium by the Lake. We had a blast looking at cool frogs, fish, snakes, sea otters, and penguins. We had to sit for a while and watch the penguins as they were fucking hilarious.....we witnessed a penguin fight, a lazy penguin that just wanted to float in the water, and a penguin with a Moses complex that climbed to the top of these rocks above all the other penguins to deliver the word of Penguin God. If only I could have taken video...
We wound up taking off shortly after as we wanted to get back on the road and get out to see another SG member Ash on the way back home. We said our goodbyes to Dan and hit the highway. Once we got to Ash's house, we just chilled and talked for a bit, using the time to rest up for the long drive ahead. Its always nice meeting up w/new SG's. We had to say goodbye after a short stay, as we needed to get back onto the highway and get home before it got too late. So we split, ending our weekend in the Chicago. All in all, it was a great time!
Over the course of this past week I've been real busy, and haven't even really had time to update. I spent the first few days resting up from my trip, and then have been busy trying to get shit organized w/this house I'm looking to buy. I've also managed to see a few shows these past few nights. Tuesday night I saw Moistboys at Little Brother's and then went to an afterparty at this tattoo shop where we hung out w/the band and had an impromptu jam session w/various members on the equipment downstairs in the basement. Last night I went to Skully's to see my ex-roomate's band play a show and wound up getting free drinks from my friend Mike. This kept me at the bar long enough to deal with the sort of shitty band that followed Mike's set. However, I had to bid my farewell and leave before getting too intoxicated- I've had too many close-calls with John Law and sort of enjoy being allowed to drive whenever I choose.
This weekend I'm working again at X-Fest driving bands to the stage and whatnot, so I'm prepared for a long weekend. It should be a good time, though.
I'm done blabberin.
Enjoy the pics.
The door is closing....bitch.
