It's pretty fucking official ladies and gentlemen...
I'm in the "future soldier program" and have my "future soldier ID card". My school credits were officially transferred and I'm an E-3, Private First Class. Things are about to start changing here for me. I ship out to Ft. Benning in January. Like almost immediately after the holidays. After talking to someone else at the MEPS station yesterday I feel a little better about not going right in on the Ranger/Special Forces program. He made a lot of sense, a lot of guys look down on guys that just get handed their spot going in so they do shit to keep guys from graduating those programs. So I'll do my best and do everything I can to work towards those goals. But 11 Bang Bang is the M.O.S. now and I'm on the path to achieving my goals.
Secondly, talking to my recruiter, I'm gonna take his advice and do everything I'm asked and anticipate things that will not be asked of me. I will work hard, take charge and make my work ethic and presence felt. I will keep my head down, learn everything I can, stay away from shit that will hurt me and take advantage of every opportunity and school i can. There shouldnt be any reason I can't jump through ranks and climb way to at least E-5 or E-6 by the end of my first enlistment especially in my M.O.S. and with the things I want to do.
On other news, I hit Arizona next week and get to see the girl. Can'twait.
