I am having the most goddamn amazing trip of my life here in America.
The week we spent in LA was non-stop, seeing a Lakers game (their first win of the season, you're welcome Lakers) a Kings game, Bad Religion and Steel Panther & Judas Priest as well as going full tourist and walking along Rodeo Drive and Santa Monica.
Portland was the most beautiful city I've seen, with the parks and the falling leaves even if it was brutally cold while we were there, I don't think it got above 2 degrees (Celsius) the entire time we were there. And the craft breweries and bars. Oh my shit. Out of this world. I wish we had more than 3 nights there. Plus I bought an OSU Beavers jersey that I'm super stoked on.
Went full tourist in San Francisco, did the Alcatraz your one day and spent another day just walking along the piers and fishermans wharf and all that. Went to a place called Custom Burger and had the biggest most delicious burger I've ever had. I think that's one of the things I'll miss most about this country, the goddamn amazing (and huge) burgers. Nothing in Australia can compare.
Last night was our first night in Vegas and it was incredible. Had, without any exaggerating whatsoever, the single most out of this world delicious meal at the Japanese restaurant Nobu in the Hard Rock casino, proceeded to get totaled on Jamieson and cocktails and lost several hundred dollars at the roulette table. This whole free drinks while you're gambling caper is amazing. And being able to smoke basically anywhere.
That's the other thing that blew my mind... I've not even paid $10 for a pack of smokes since I got here and some places it was as cheap as $6! SIX DOLLARS FOR A PACK OF CIGARETTES!! I know that's probably super unimpressive to anyone that lives in America but for me that's literally a quarter what I'd pay in Australia. It's mind blowing.
It's super depressing now though that I've got 4 more nights in Vegas then have to head home back to my regular shitty life.
