Wow, two blogs in one month. Must have something to do with the time off. Today, random observations about Christmas shopping (or holiday shopping for those non-christians among us):
* I am not religious, not in the least. In fact, I think organized religion causes a lot of the world's problems. I shop because it keeps the peace in the family. That said, for a time of year when most people are supposed to be celebrating peace and harmony and all that good stuff, why do they drive and shop like assholes? [insert comment about churches, synagogues, and mosques being filled with hypocrites here].
* I am dangerous in a bookstore. Everywhere I look, I see something I think someone I know will like, a calendar, a book, chocolates, something that people will like. So, with that in mind, the Amex is SMOKING after coming out of Barnes & Noble with 2 large stuffed shopping bags.
* Stopped to get my mom a gift certificate to Dress Barn. I now understand why it is called dress BARN. Everywhere I looked, I saw cows. My mom is not a cow, so why does she shop there?!?!?!
* Walking out of one store, I SWORE I saw my ex-wife. Lookalike. Close enough to run a jolt through my system. Not a happenstance encounter I'd like have right now.
* My town does a shitty job plowing roads. This is when I love my "clunker" Tahoe and fuck anyone who says I should have traded it in over the summer. How's your smart car running in 10 inches of snow, asswipes?
* I miss having a special lady to buy gifts for, even though I got most of them online. I know, it contradicts a statement above. BAGGAGE. I'd have it carted away, but the airlines charge too much for cargo right now.
* After seeing the receipts from today's shopping and the past two weeks of online shopping, I am glad my stock portfolio is doing well in 2009. Here's a tip for anyone who has read this far. GRDO, Guard Dog, a identity theft company along the lines of LifeLock. it's floating between 0.01 and 0.015 and is poised to likely double in the next year. Would have been entry number one if SG approved the Stocks and Investing group I proposed. Motherfuckers.
* Bet you didn't realize I was this sarcastic. LOL. Oh yeah.
Happy Holidays
