Ahh, the 2nd weekend of April, otherwise known as tax weekend. I am an accountant by trade, so I naturally do my own tax returns and wait until the last possible moment to calculate them.
First up is the Federal Government, a/k/a how much of my money is going to Iraq: go through the calculations and come up with my taxable income. Am I ever glad I upped the contribution to the retirement plan last year. As usual, I am getting back a tidy little sum of $472 from the feds, but far too much of my money is going to the middle east to pay for oil drilling rights. Still, I filled out the direct deposit section and will start deciding how to spend my little windfall.
Now on to the motherfucking, bloodsucking, asslicking, fuckface, New Jersey state return. Can you tell I just love my state government??? Last year, I OWED money, which pissed me off even more, so I am starting to get annoyed just looking at their fucktard designed forms. NJ lets you deduct NOTHING. No pension contributions, no medical contributions, not a goddam blessed fucking thing. And the form is stupid red boxes that makes the Federal forms look genius in comparison. So I start filling it out and putting 0's in all the "gee, if you were a one legged marathon runner with no prosthetics, you could deduct $5,000" boxes, I arrive at my tax. And surprise of surprises, I am getting $200 back. Then I look for the place to put in my direct deposit info and guess that?!?!?! YOU CAN'T GET DIRECT DEPOSIT FROM NEW JERSEY. Or at least if you can, it's buried in the instructions and I'm not taking the time to dig for it. ASS HOLES.
I will make copies at work on Monday and mail and this joy is over for another year. My economy does NOT feel stimulated in the least.
