In my opinion art therapy is the consummate cure-all. I first realized this when I visited my sister in the mental hospital many years ago... don't worry kids she's not crazy... just misunderstood. Anyway, I went to this really cool, new art store that recently opened on Johnson St. I bought a box of Cray-pas and some construction paper. I made a picture of a tiger. I think it really helped me to unwind and reflect in a Rinzai sort of way.
My sweetie and I are turning our sun-porch into a mini-lapidary-studio. We recently decided that this might be a cool hobbie for us to both take up. Hopefully, we will see this endevor to full fruition. We still need a rock tumbler, but I'm sure we'll get one sooner or later.
When I was in the attic looking for tools potentially useful supplies today, I came across a box of CDs I used to listen to--mostly new wave and dark wave music. I decided to reminisce a little by listening to some of them. Don't tell anyone, but I'm currently listening to Sunshine Blind's cover of "I Ran." The fact that I like it probably makes me a dork... but who the fuck cares?
