If you aren't happy there you should definitely try to transfer. Sometimes it's just not the right school for you. I don't know of anyone who transferred from my class but thejuanupsman had a friend who transferred after a dismal first year and it was a great move for him. He ended up at a school he loved and because the school was a better fit for him he ended up doing really well the next two years and got a really great job after school.

I wouldn't worry that much about law review. Lots of people who didn't get on it have gone on to do really great things. Also a lot of people who were on law review have gone on to have mediocre or dismal careers. Just focus on getting the most you can out of school and you'll be fine.

What SN said. The higher up you go, the more actual merit matters less and personal connections matter more. And not just personal connections, but preferences, opinions, and popularity.

Have you befriended a professor today?

Though I haven't even started law school, and hoping to sell a screenplay shortly after I begin so I can potentially drop out, the exposure through a girlfriend and roommate's girlfriend was enough to make me think none too highly of writing for the law.

It seems 25% your own logic or opinions and 75% basing of that logic and opinions on the legal precedents set by others in the past. I bet it was cool to be a judge or a lawyer when the nation was young...

I was coming to ask how 1L went, but four A's? Goodness. I didn't get four A's my entire law school career. How are you spending your summer? Find an internship?

I could use a succulent Italian PhD candidate myself. Oh well.

You were away when SP passed. It was over New Year's. It was eerie because of the previous New Year's when he got hurt.

I only regret I couldn't google a pic of a homeless guy with a permit. A little photoshopping might have been in order, but see above comment regarding lazy.
