Just FYI, the end of this song transitions from Vera Lynn to Lily Tomlin singing with the Muppets.

I've finally completed a fairly long period of studies, and will be getting another degree (my fourth) for all my efforts. This fall, I'll be shifting gears in a new locale and institution, finally focusing exclusively on upper division coursework, along with preparing myself for grad school....

We hiked Eagle Creek...at least we hiked 4 miles in before turning around. :) It's a lot easier than Angel's Rest! Do you go often?

Don't want to get up, but I've got to get my body moving.

So this is it. After 7 years on this site, I've finally decided it's time for me to move on. Although I've maintained anonymity throughout my membership, I still managed to meet a number of others, and have enjoyed many engaging conversations, sympathized with some of other's hardships, and shared a few laughs along the way. While the site has changed and made things a...

Well, you'll be missed from the Current Events board, uh, group, that's for sure.  As far as other, more important endeavors, that certainly sounds worthwhile.  I'm inferring that you find hanging out on SG, and/or elsewhere on the internet, somewhat distracting from so-called real life stuff?  Or maybe I'm just projecting here....

Some days I just want to lapse into a velvety fugue and drown in a pool of liquid bliss, others I just feel like smashing everything out of my way like some wildly swinging wrecking ball. Today I can't really decide which, but this song seems to have helped me find a way to handle being somewhere in between.

Papers, Please.

I have a theory, one I'd love to research properly someday, that games are educational by default. That the drive to play is so strong because it's the drive to learn from simulation, and that's important preparation for future survival.

Thank you, I know it may all be in my head. It's just such a very quick and odd change from how we were talking before.

I've just had seriously terrible experiences dating that I expect the worse

I thought I just heard a moment of a porn on BBC News. Turned out it was an out of context scene from When Harry Met Sally (they accidentally played the wrong clip on a Google tablet story).

I guess Nora Ephron, a woman who's written, directed and produced several notable screenplays including When Harry Met Sally, passed away. Can't say I was a...

The funny part on the twitter thing is, he would have had to find me several pages back on the twitter thread in Hookups. I found him because he put his handle on the CE thread, but I never said anything to or about him on twitter.

Saw this today and I was impressed.

To be Christian is your choice, sir
And to Jesus you can pray.
There's no call to raise your voice, sir.
Just 'cause you can have your way.

Your religion isn't mine, sir, and the bible's not my book,
But I read the Constitution and you might just take a look.
For that document protects us from the...
