today was my first day back to work after about a week.
i hate how being there affects me. i dont feel like myself when i work there 6 days a week. nothin better to break my will than workin for the man.
today was totally worthwhile though. this hot older mexican girl that somes in from time to time asked for my number. its the first time that any girl has asked for my number. i was high as a hundred dollar kite all day.
shes always giving me flirty looks when she comes in. problem is, i dont speak spanish, and she doesnt really speak english. we had to use a mediator to flirt today. twas a bit awkward.
at one point the translator is telling me that she said she could teach me spanish.
she speaks more spanish, then he says "she wants to know what she can teach you"
"uhm, she can teach me anything she wants"
i was so flustered i had to look at my cell phone to figure out what my phone number was.
she of course cant really use the number because talking to her on the phone would be futile, but next time i see her in there i think i will have my wits about me enough to plan an activity with her.

The first thing that comes to mind is that, after the cooking of the wort, keeping thing clean is everything! I've ruined many batches by not keeping things sanitized.
Second: Use water that tastes good. I saw Alton Brown on Good Eats do a show about making beer and he used store bought Ice in the beer. Yeeeech!
Third: Darker beers are more forgiving when it comes to taste. Also they have less chance of blowing the top off of the fermenter. (I've never done a pilsner that I liked)
fourth: after it's ready, drink it fast. It will not last for months like store bought beer.
fifth: If you grab the first ready bottle from the fridge and it foams all up like Old Faithful, take the bottles outside and use the beer to water the plants or kill snails.
Well, that's all I can think of off the top of my head.
P.S. People that like Coors or, worse yet Zema, will never like your beer no matter how good it is.
