No one's really sure who started the fight. Jason Stollsensomethingorother claimed that Jack White started it and White claims Jason stated it. Everthing I've read seems to indicate the two haven't liked each other since Jack helped the Von Bondies produce their first album; so it may have stemmed from that. However, reading summaries of their individual accounts gives you this (scroll to the middle) and this. So you can see it's all kinda contradictory.
What DID happen for sure is Jack kicked the crap out of Jason.
But you can be sure they're both riding all the publicity to the bank.

A few months ago they played here and this production group I work with sometimes makes a DVD magazine of bands sometimes, so we taped them for it.
I think they taped them another time as well for some more footage but I was on another gig in Oklahoma at the time.
Anyway, stay in touch.
